On June 23rd while driving my 2021 XL SuperCrew with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine, the engine quit while I was driving about 30mph. I pushed the accelerator slightly intending to accelerate to 35mph and when the truck downshifted, the engine stalled, and I think the transmission tried to move to park. I got a notification of parking brake error on the dash and started hearing a ticking/clicking noise while still rolling, now down a hill. I moved the column shifter to neutral and it didn't do anything to stop the ticking. I pulled onto the shoulder and slowed down and, and as I neared stopping, the truck finished shifting into park and it jolted to a stop. I then saw a bunch of other errors like engine coolant too hot, stability control disabled, and forward collision warning disabled. There may have been others but I don't recall. The tachometer was frozen showing roughly 2000 rpm until I turned the key to off. Then the dash said to be careful exiting because the parking brake wasn't on. After turning the key to off, I restarted it, the lights on the dash cleared, and I was able to shift to drive, and make it home 3 min later. There are no lights on the dash, so I'm hoping this can still diagnosed at this point. The truck has 793 miles on it as it sits now. The soonest service appointment I have been able to make is for July 8th, but the dealer won't guarantee that it will be seen then.

The rear window shattered after closing a door on my 2021 F-15 XLT. It was 68 degrees, 11am and the truck was parked in the shade. There's approximately 3800 miles on the odometer. There was no one in the truck. The window blew out onto the tonneau cover. I have a call into my insurance and have yet to have it inspected by either the insurance or the Ford dealer, as it happened on a Saturday.

This vehicle was purchased NEW from the dealer with this OPEN SAFETY RECALL. This is a violation of 49 USC 30120(i) Sale and delivery of un-remedied, recalled vehicles. The dealership told us in person on the date of purchase that there were NO open recalls on the vehicle, safety or otherwise. In the event of an accident this defect could pose harm not only to the occupants but innocent bystanders. This NEW vehicle was purchased for its safety and reliability, not to be exposed to risk and neglect. This dealership needs to be investigated for breaking federal regulations and exposing me, my family, as well as others, to unnecessary risk. There were at least two other customers whom the dealership was contacting to inform them of the recall AFTER they purchased their new vehicle. It is my opinion that there are likely many others as well. I have all the sale documentation for my vehicle ready to add to this complaint.

I purchased the truck early 2021. After about 6500 miles, upon starting the vehicle a warning message to the effect of "Oil Level Low, Add Oil" appeared. After manually checking my oil dipstick, I found the oil level to be below the safe oil line. I promptly took the truck to the Ford Dealership in which I purchased it. The service technician informed me of one other case he has personally experienced where the PCV system was defective, allowing an excessive amount of oil to be consumed. Ford was unable to receive my vehicle for service for 1-2 weeks due to a full service schedule. It was at this point I attempted to go to a 3rd party vendor for an oil change. That vendor checked my oil level and confirmed the reading was below the safe oil line. They advised I return to Ford. Concern for my safety and the continued safe operation of the vehicle, I requested the 3rd party vendor to add a quart of oil. In the end, it took 2 quarts of oil to return the oil level to a safe operating zone. I then promptly returned to Ford and spoke to the service department manager. They will accomplish and oil change and return the vehicle to me to perform an oil consumption test over the course of approximately 1,000-1,500 miles, before returning to Ford for further evaluation.

My brand new F150 2021 had a powertrain malfunction with power totally reduced. I had no ability to accelerate. I had to glide over to the side of the road. I restarted the car. It reset, i went to accelerate and again i had an error code and my car froze. I was able to restart again and drive over to my Ford dealership i purchased it from at 15 miles per hour. The problem was reproduced once and confirmed by the dealer. The dealer has contacted Ford and was told they have never seen that error code for a F150. The GM of Ford here in Montana told me if they cant reproduce the problem again, i can have the truck back. This truck is 3 weeks old. I am terrified.

The 2021 F150 active air dam does not function properly. The top stationary piece becomes lodged inside of the bottom retractable part every time it opens and closes. It's becoming weaker and loosely attached to the vehicle. I'm afraid one day driving it will completely fall off and fly into another vehicle's line of sight causing damage or a wreck. The dealer I went to service advisor called it a "wrinkle" like it was a joke to him and I should just deal with it. He supposedly put in a "TSB" but never calls me back when I ask about it. I need it replaced or repaired. It makes me extremely nervous. There are multiple threads complaining about it so it's not just a one truck issue.
6/23/2021
Vehicle was purchased new 06/08/2021. Since that time it has been back to the dealer 4 times with 3 being for repairs to the problem. There is a crunching / clanging sound every time a turn is made on an incline or decline. The vehicle has been inspected and gone over with body bolts loosened and re-tightened to factory specs to no solution. It was taken back again and now the dealer thinks it is something with the springs. The truck has been with the dealer a total or 27 days as of this date. ( 08-21-2021 ) and repair attempted 3 times. The dealer is not sure if springs are the problem, just chasing possibilities down. I have a loaner which myself and my wife heard the same noise starting. We feel unsafe with this vehicle and Ford seems to be passing the buck although the dealer rep believes it is time for a buy back.

WHEELS
4 Reports2% of totalPreviewing the first 2 complaint summaries.
The bolt holding the hub to the axle sheared off. THis truck is less than a year old with 95% highway miles so, not sure what the cause is other than negligence on Ford's end. Without this bolt, the wheel could separate from the axle while driving and cause a serious incident. There was no indication other than a slight rattling I could hear while driving slow with the windows down. It is possible there are many people out there with the same serious issue without knowing. This seems to be a common issue looking through forums of people with the same truck and Ford is giving everyone the run-around. This is too serious of an issue to be taken lightly and an official recall should be made.
5/8/2022
The bolt that secures the hub to the semi float axle shaft sheared on the rear passenger side. At this point, the only thing holding the wheel/hub assembly on the truck is spline friction and brake caliper. I discovered the issue today during a tire rotation, but based on the condition of the bolt it appears that the bolt has been sheared for some time--possibly from the factory. More owners reporting the issue here: https://www.f150forum.com/f129/2021-powerboost-rear-rotor-axle-bolt-sheared-515460/

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
4 Reports2% of totalPreviewing the first 2 complaint summaries.
On June 17, 2022 while driving to work on highway in Nee York Stare, I put the adaptive cruise control on so I could adjust my drivers side rear view mirror. The truck suddenly lunged to the left striking a guard rail and overturned several times. Despite being a direct high speed impact to the guard rail and overturning , the steering airbag did not deploy. See police report attached. Due to this , I sustained major internal tissue damage including: a broken sternum, punctured lung bruised aorta, 4 fractures to the vertebrae in both my upper and lower spine and 4 broken ribs in my upper rib cage. I spent a total of 11 nights in the hospital including 4 nights in the ICU. I have not been cleared to return to work and instill under medical care. I understand there was a airbag/steering column recall on other F150s but I strongly suspect that the reveal needs to be expanded to mite vehicles such as mine. All the Doctors that treated me said my injuries were the direct result of the steering wheel airbag not deploying. The state trooper that reined me from my vehicle , as well as one of the witnesses both told me that my steering airbag did not deeply. I also have pictures as well.
7/7/2022
On certain occasions, the transmission will make a banging noise while causing the truck to jerk forward when the vehicle has to upshift such as taking off from an intersection but rarely jerks when the vehicle is downshifting. Also, while using the adaptive cruise control system, the vehicle will travel close to the right or middle lane as if it is looking for the pavement striping and then move back over to the center of the lane. With the adaptive cruise system, when the vehicle is supposed to be in the center of the lane, the system slightly turns the the wheel as if it is having trouble staying in the center of the lane. The vehicle also has a CSP for unintended tailgate opening. i have an appointment set for November 18th but have been trying to get in touch with the service advisor that was assigned to me multiple times and was told he would receive an email to contact me each time but he has not contacted me. The shifting/jerking problem has occurred only three times and the issue with the adaptive cruise system is every time it is turned on while traveling a multi lane highway that has a broken striped line on both sides of the vehicle. Since this is my only vehicle, if the vehicle has to be kept at the dealer, I would need a loaner vehicle to travel to and from work while my vehicle is being repaired. I only use my truck on paved roads. Date is most recent incident of transmission issue.

While pulling a trailer, truck stops recognizing trailer brake connection without warning. Driver only notices truck brakes are no longer working because trailer is pushing truck while stopping. All other trailer connections, lights, turn signals, are working. When applying trailer brakes from truck controller, truck message says no trailer connected. This problem is intermittent and unpredictable. Sometimes it can be corrected by reconnecting 7 pin adapter but sometimes this does not work and the truck battery has to be disconnected and reconnected. Online forums show this to be a common problem.

After driving the vehicle for 14,000 miles I was traveling out of state when my wife and I discovered that the passenger seat belt was not anchored to the floor. When we arrived home there was a recall notification in our mail. I immediately went to Serramonte Ford in Colma, CA and scheduled the required inspection for November 1. They assured me that any necessary repair would be done at that time. Later that day they called and told me that I needed a new part but they were required to order it from a special source because it was a recall item. (What)! They called two weeks later and advised that the part arrived and I made an appointment for November 16 and dropped the vehicle off. Later that day they called and told me that they needed a gasket so the repair couldnât be done. I picked up the vehicle and they told me they would call me to reschedule the repair. I bought the vehicle new. The first time I took it to get an oil change, the mechanic came out to show me that the bell housing bolts were falling out. We tightened them up. I was having issues with the smell of breaks burning so I took it to a ford dealership but told them to check the bolts as well. I told them it would shake some when approaching 80 mph. They didn't find anything wrong. And nothing was said about the shaking. At 51k miles, my family was on vacation. My nephew noticed the front passenger wheel was about to blow out when we had stopped. Putting on the spare I started recording the change because the lug nuts were extremely loose. The tires have never been rotated or changed these issues were from the factory. I reached out to Ford, they told me to take it back to a shop which I have scheduled. It's pointless, this truck is a death trap and Ford doesn't seem to care at all about the level of safety this was for me and my family.

The APIM is completely nonfunctional. Screen is blank. Two dealers went through entire test protocol and arrived at this conclusion. Hence I have no camera or warning system, as well as no Bluetooth for hands free communication. No GPS. The truck only has about 1300 miles on it. I got it in March after waiting 9 months, and the system broke very soon thereafter. Ford must have known of these defective units because their failure is a common discussion topic on the internet. It took 6 weeks to get a dealer appointment to diagnose. Now I am told that replacement units are on "galactic" backorder. Ford must be penalized for delivering what they must have known to be a likely defective product. Without all the safety systems dependent on the APIM, I and others are put at risk. Please do something to discourage selling vehicles that are known to carry likely safety feature failures.

1. The passenger and drivers side modules were replaced by the dealership but the issues still persist and are available for inspection upon request. 2. Safety could be at risk. Reverse Brake Assist error issue could potentially cause a small child or person to be in danger if sensors are not working or cause an accident. 3. It has been reproduced and verified by the dealer. The dealer is Sill-Terhar Motors in Broomfield, CO. 4. The passenger and drivers side rear modules were replaced by the dealership, but the issues still persist. 5. The system failure messages did appear at the time of failure. They started appearing approximately a week after we purchased the truck. First warning is logged in the FordPass app on June 13, 2021 I get three warnings pretty consistently when the system fails. So far the FordPass app has over100 error messages regarding my issue. The warning messages all show up at the same time. They are usually: 1. Blind Spot System Fault 2. Cross Traffic System Fault 3. Reverse Brake Assist Not Available See Manual (even though it IS turned on) 4. Hill Start Assist Error occurs as well 5. Sometimes when I am in reverse and these go off and I then brake with the foot pedal, the electronic emergency brake engaged without any manual intervention. First 3 errors have happened while reversing AND while driving in normal city street and highway speeds. Taking into the dealer to have it looked at again on Nov. 4, 2021. Issues started 06/13/2021 and continue to present (as of this writing 10/25/2021).

Cluster will randomly shut off causing all gauges to act like the vehicle isn't on. Then it will turn back on. I notice that transmission temp gauge will be the only gauge that wouldn't go back to normal. It will take several minutes for gauge to reset. The risk is not knowing your speed and causing a distraction to what is happening while driving. No dealer could redo the problem.

I purchased a 2021 Ford F-150 pick-up truck for my business in September 2022 with ~12,000 miles. I took it to my local auto mechanic on Sa-11/26/22 for it's first oil change & tire rotation at ~15,000 miles. Upon my mechanic rotating my tires, he found the sheared-off axle bolt on the rear/passenger side (pictures & mechanic write-up available). My mechanic stated he believes the axle bolt was over torqued/tightened in the factory and not a result of daily driving usage... Answers to Above Questions: > Rear/Passenger Side Wheel: Axle Bolt SHEARED-OFF; Pictures & mechanic write-up available > My mechanic informed me I was a very "lucky" person that I didn't get into a serious vehicle accident due this axle bolt being sheared-off; I was strongly advised by my mechanic that I should NOT drive my truck until repaired > My truck was towed to an authorized Ford dealership and is awaiting inspection & service (earliest available appointment is W-12/7/22, meaning I will be without the use of my truck for AT LEAST ~12 days!!!!!) > As stated previously, my truck is currently at an authorized Ford dealership awaiting inspection & service. Upon me doing Internet research, Ford does not have any listed recalls for this issue, but there are plenty of Ford forum sites detailing the EXACT same issue(s)!!!, so there definitely is a BIG problem! > There were no warning indications/messages displayed in my truck prior to learning of the problem.

Speaker Issue: When starting the truck, after about 3 seconds of sitting in the truck, the speakers made a really loud pop noise and then continued to make a loud static noise and cracking noise for the duration of my 15 minute drive home. If this happened on the freeway, it may traumatize someone or cause an accident. The problem has happened twice but it is not been replicable for a dealer or service center. The truck has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance reps. I read online that this is happening to a lot of 2021+ F-150s with the B & O Unleashed 18 Speaker sound package. Please recall this, it is the most dangerous speaker issue I have ever heard.

Vehicle came close to crashing into other vehicles multiple times while trying to come to a stop. Vehicle was brought to a Ford dealership where the issue was verified. Dealer noted no recalls or TSB's on this vehicle. Dealer cleared the faults and test drove the vehicle and said the issue is now gone. Vehicle was in the process of being driven home when another vehicle in front slowed and tripped the pre collision sensor again and again all alarms came on and the brakes were lost. The vehicle in front was almost collided with. Contacted Ford customer service to report the issue. Ford cs said to tow the vehicle to an authorized ford dealership and call back to open a case file. The Pro Trailer Assist program won't load or work along with constant electrical lamp fault messages when trailering my boat. This is a safety concern because you can't tell if the trailer lights are really working or not while driving. I also experience the turn signals blinking really fast like a bulb is out - when none are actually out. The local dealer's electrical technician has reproduced and confirmed my issues. The manufacturer is aware of my problem and is currently offering to put me in a 2022 truck that will be built in February. The Pro Trailer Assist program never would load or work from day one. The electrical lamp fault messages started as soon as I trailered my boat. All the lamp fault messages and fast blinking turn signals only happen while trailering my boat. The local dealer had my new truck forty days and replaced the APIM Module twice with no success. Mileage then (328), mileage now 1,255.
