REAR PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE SEIZURE OR STICKING. HAPPENED WHEN I WENT TO A COLDER LOCATION. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY LUBED THE GUIDES, 2 MONTHS LATER, BACK IN A COLD AREA, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. THE CAR DOESN'T ROLL IN NEUTRAL AND THE BRAKES HEAT UP, EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE PADS ON THAT BRAKE.

Vehicle braking fades in a random manner. An independent service center technician experienced the problem during one test drive. The technician assessed the braking system and stated that the master cylinder is operating correctly and there is no air in hydraulic lines. The tech suggested that it could be an issue with the hydraulic ECU which was part of a recall campaign for prior year models. This condition puts the safety of driver, passengers, and other vehicles on the road at risk. No alerts, warnings, or indicators have been triggered on the dash.

MOST TIMES MY CAR WILL START WHEN I PRESS THE "ENGINE START STOP" BUTTON MY FOOT IS ON THE BRAKE. MOST TIMES IT WILL SHUT DOWN WHEN THE BUTTON IS PRESSED. SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT. I NEVER KNOW WHEN AND IF I WILL HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER IN TOMS RIVER, NJ. THEY SAID IT WAS A FAULTY START-STOP BUTTON. I PAID THEM TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THEY CHARGED ME A DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND FOR A NEW START-STOP BUTTON. I DROVE THE CAR HOME THINKING MY PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. THE PROBLEM WAS ELIMINATED FOR TWO DAYS ONLY TO RETURN AGAIN. WHEN I ADVISED THEM OF THIS, I RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE. I CAN NOT RETURN TO THIS DEALER. I SIMPLY DON'T TRUST THEM.

WHILE DRIVING WHEN I GO TO STOP OR SLOW DOWN THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. IT'S REAL HARD TO STOP THE CAR, I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT'S THE HECU A 3,000 $ FIX. I KNOW THAT OTHER GENESIS OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED OF THE SAME PROBLEM. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME AND OTHER VEHICLES AROUND ME. I KNOW THAT HYUNDAI HAS RECALLED OTHER VEHICLES FOR THIS PROBLEM DUE TO FAULTY BRAKE FLUID THAT DISTROYS THE HECU. IT SURE SEEMS TO BE WHAT HAPPENED TO MINE.

THE VEHICLE HAS AN ISSUE WITH AN INCONSISTENT BRAKE PATTERN. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDDLE IS DEPRESSED IT SOMETIMES WILL GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND REQUIRE THE OPERATOR TO "PUMP THE BRAKES" IN ORDER TO REGAIN THE BRAKING ABILITY. THE BRAKE PEDDLE DOES NOT REQUIRE THIS ALL THE TIME. I WILL BE HAVING THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT BY A TECHNICIAN TO VERIFY THAT THERE IS CORROSION IN THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR AS IT APPEARS TO MYSELF TO BE CONTAMINATED. THE VEHICLE SPEED HAD NO CORRELATION TO WHEN BRAKES BEGAN TO FAIL AND REQUIRED PUMPING THE PEDDLE IN ORDER TO REGAIN BRAKING POWER.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN SUDDENLY THE SUNROOF OF MY VEHICLE SHATTERED. GLASS FLEW DOWN THE BACK OF THE CAR SCRATCHING THE BACK WINDSHIELD AND TRUNK. THE WEATHER WAS APPROXIMATELY 72 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT OUTSIDE WITH THE AC SET TO 70. THE SUNSHADE WAS CLOSED. BASED ON THE FRACTURING OF THE GLASS, IT SEEMED AS IF THE CAUSE OF THE SUNROOF BREAKING CAME FROM INSIDE THE CAR. THE GLASS WAS BOWED UPWARD AND OUTWARD FROM THE VEHICLE. UPON REVIEW OF DASH CAM FOOTAGE, THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF ANY OUTWARD OR EXTERIOR SOURCE THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE GLASS TO BREAK.

The adjustment on the steering column for telescopic/up/down adjustments doesn't hold the steering wheel in place, even under light pressure like trying to honk the horn, the column just pushes in. Since the column cannot stay in place under light pressure, it won't stay in place if the driver's airbag is deployed possibly causing severe injury or death. I first noticed this problem back in 2015, the local deal refused to fix the problem and wanted me to pay for the NEW steering column and the labor to replace it.

The vehicle had been parked at my residence and powered off for approximately two weeks. Without warning, the vehicle spontaneously caught fire originating from the engine compartment. The vehicle was not running, had not been driven recently, and there was no collision or external fire source. The fire caused extensive damage to the engine bay, wiring, and surrounding components. The passenger cabin was largely unaffected, indicating the fire originated under the hood. There were no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms before the incident. The cause appears to be an electrical or mechanical defect that remained energized while the vehicle was powered off. I later became aware that this vehicle may be subject to a manufacturer recall related to fire risk or electrical defects, and I was never notified prior to this incident.

There was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine. The contact was able to pull over safely. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that there were loosened screws that caused the rattling sound. I am submitting this complaint regarding a catastrophic engine failure in my 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe while driving at 70 mph on the highway. Without any prior warning, the engine suddenly started making a loud knocking noise from under the hood, and shortly after, the car lost power. There were no check engine lights or other indicators signaling an issue before the failure. I was able to safely pull the car over to the side of the highway without further incident, but the engine was completely inoperable. The vehicle has since been inspected by a certified mechanic, who confirmed that the engine failure was due to a mechanical defect, likely tied to the known issues with Hyundaiâs 2.0T engines. These engines have been reported to suffer from bearing failures and lubrication problems that can lead to catastrophic engine failure, which is consistent with my experience. Despite being aware of this widespread issue, Hyundai has yet to issue a recall for the affected vehicles, which is a serious safety concern. Drivers are at risk of unexpected engine failure with no prior warning, especially at high speeds, as was the case in my incident. I believe Hyundaiâs failure to act and address this issue puts the safety of drivers in jeopardy. I am requesting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigate this matter and encourage Hyundai to issue a recall for these vehicles. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request to further support the investigation. Thank you for your attention to this serious safety issue.
