While I was driving 65mph on the interstate with my three children in car seats in the middle row we heard a loud explosion and the front panel of the panoramic sunroof glass covered the inside of my vehicle, all of myself and my three toddlers. It was a nice sunny day. No trees or cars were around us. Shards of glass were in all of our hair, car seats, stroller and everywhere else in the car.

Loud booming sound followed by loud crackling coming from speakers. Thought I was in an accident and slammed on the brakes. No one was behind me, but if there was, the person may not have been able to stop. Happened yesterday 10/2/2022 at Huber farms in Indiana at slow speed. Also happened on 9/12/2022 when stopped. Went to Bloomington Indiana community ford while it was still crackling. A service department staff came and did something and the crackling finally stopped. They could not diagnose the problem and returned the car to me on 9/15/2022.

I just had the same issue described in the forum listed below. Extremely loud max volume screeching static through the speakers. Tried turning the car off and on several times, tried turning the radio off, tried switching to Serius xm radio, nothing would make it stop and it was completely unsafe to drive it like that. It was too loud to hear anything else over it and it was so jarring. I now have a headache and iâm nervous to drive it for fear of it happening again. My husband had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. I have a video but it doesnât seem like I can upload it here, only pics. https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/extremely-loud-electrical-pop-followed-by-loud-static.9591/page-4

General: While driving this rental vehicle over the span of three days, I noticed and confirmed over a dozen times that the vehicle's speed control would dramatically increase with NO driver input or actions. Specific: The vehicle's cruise control would be on and active, set at various speeds; 55, 60, 65, 70, 75 (long, straight road with varying speed limits). In different circumstances (sometimes when being overtaken by another vehicle, or cresting a hill or when beginning to climb a hill), the speed control, while set would immediately, with no driver input other than light steering INCREASE to 15-30 mph above the speed at which the cruise control was set. Over the period of three days of rental I was able to verify this behavior many times and I was able to capture a video that shows the speed set increase from 65 mph to 90 mph immediately, and the vehicle would begin aggressive acceleration. I have a clear video of the steering wheel and gauge cluster that I cannot attach to this report, but will email upon request. In the video, the malfunction is at the 13 second mark. In this video, the speed control setting increased from 65mph immediately to 90mph and the vehicle started accelerating. Switching the speed control off, or tapping the brake ceased the acceleration, as expected. Vehicle was reported to National car rental and an attempt was made to report it to Ford. Because it was a rental, I am unaware of any corrective action or inspection that may have, or may take place.

My Expedition has adaptive cruise control. I was driving on the interstate at around 65 mph with the adaptive cruise set. I was raining, so I set it to max range. It worked fine for the first few minutes of rain. As cars started to slow down, mine sped up and put me in an extremis situation where I had to forcibly apply the brakes. It was following the car in front of mine fine at around 55 mph, but then sped up despite the car getting closer as if there wasn't a car there. Only after I applied the brakes did I start getting an error that adaptive cruise and collision assist were not working due to a sensor being blocked. I've driven in rain many times and have never had this error. As far as I can tell the forward sensor failed due to moisture and instead of the adaptive cruise turning off, it actually caused the vehicle to accelerate since cruise was set to 65 mph. Sensor failed in a 5 minute rain storm. Software design does not fail safe, but rather the opposite.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the vehicle had collected snow and while opening the trunk, the spoiler fractured. The vehicle was taken to an Auto Body shop, where it was determined that the spoiler needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer was contacted, and a voicemail message was left. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

In December of 2023 (not even one full year after purchasing my brand new Ford Expedition) I used the FOB to remotely open the trunk on my 2022 Ford Expedition. Upon doing so, I heard popping and cracking sounds. I didn't see any damage, so I didn't think anything of it until I drove on the interstate and immediately heard a violent slapping noise coming from the back of my vehicle. I took the truck to the dealership (where I purchased my vehicle). They inspected the vehicle and said that the spoiler is misaligned and loose - causing the sound and also resulting in a dent on the roof of the vehicle. The dealership said that Ford would not cover the repair under their FULL BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. Three other people with new Ford Expeditions at my dealership have experienced this exact issue. (Also a simple Google search of "Ford spoiler issue" will demonstrate that many others have experienced this issue.) I am extremely nervous to drive my vehicle anywhere as it sounds and feels like the spoiler is going to fly off of the vehicle especially when I drive on the interstate. This is a HUGE safety issue. The spoiler is loose and could fly off on the highway and cause an accident or hit another vehicle. NHTSA is aware of this issue and submitted an SSM to Ford [XXX] ), but Ford will not recall or cover repairs to their vehicles that have a defect and pose a safety risk. This needs to be immediately rectified before someone is seriously hurt. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Trailer brake controller is not engaging trailer brakes when the brake pedal is pressed. The trailer brakes will engage when manually squeezing the controller. Exact same symptoms as my 2021 f150 which had the recall. This is a September build, dealer service is telling me there is nothing wrong, it all checks out.

Rear cabin lights do not come on when doors are opened. When manually turned on, at times, rear cabin lights will turn on and not be able to be turned off. On start-up, vehicle had an ear-piercing noise coming through all speakers. All of the dashboard screens were black, buttons were not responsive, but the vehicle would still move. Even after getting the vehicle to turn off, the sound persisted. I had to manually disconnect the battery to get it to stop. I have video of the incident if helpful. Ford service had no idea how to handle.

Bought car new last year. Current 15,000 miles. On Saturday, September 2, I turned the ignition off and then opened the drivers door. Suddenly there was a horrendous loud static noise coming from I assume the radio speakers. It was deafening, and lasted about 3 seconds. I have read about other Ford trucks having this problem, but it is the first time for me. I will take it to my Ford dealer tomorrow morning. Apparently there is a quick program update to correct the issue. If this happened while I was driving, it may have caused an accident.

vehicle has been shifting into neutral at speeds for 65 mph or more , it is constantly locking and unlocking itself when turned off. It malfuctiins during auto pilot asst( doesnt read the hands even though they are on the wheel) Today it wouldn't turned on. when I pressed the brake to turn it on, it said that the steering system fails and that the braking system failed and the screen powered down to save battery. when pressed the brake shook and then locked down. even if left on this vehicle turns off after idling for more than 10 minutes. so that makes no sense. It wouldn't even attempt to turn over.

Since purchase in 2022, the vehicle has experienced repeated failures of multiple safety systems. These include frequent warnings that âPre-Collision Assist is Not Available,â repeated failures of Blind Spot Detection with Cross Traffic Alert, Tire Pressure Monitoring warnings, and messages to âCheck 12-Volt Battery.â These system malfunctions occur intermittently and unpredictably, creating unsafe driving conditions. In addition to the warning messages, the rear liftgate has failed to latch properly and on at least one occasion opened while the vehicle was in motion. This poses a serious hazard to vehicle occupants and to other drivers on the road. The safety risk is significant because these systems are designed to prevent or mitigate crashes. Their failure leaves the driver without critical safety features, and the trunk latch defect could cause loss of cargo or injury. These problems have been ongoing for years and have not been permanently corrected despite software updates and recall activity. The dealer has acknowledged the symptoms and advised the vehicle was unsafe to drive.

I was driving in the express lane NB I-15 in Utah. I was at highway speeds with no one around me. I had the visor that closed on my sunroof when all of a sudden I hear a loud explosion, it scared me and I immediately slowed and pulled off the road. I first thought maybe it was a tire, I checked and all were intact, then I saw glass and looked up on my roof and noticed that the sunroof was completely blown out. I apparently lost my Panoramic portion of my sunroof, not the part that actually opens, the fixed portion. The glass is angled out like a slope up a mountain. I am lucky the visor was closed as it minimized the glass inside the vehicle and onto my kids. I just bought this vehicle from Ford on a special order and took possession of it 3-4 weeks ago. This was on a Sunday afternoon 8/21. I took it straight to the dealer Monday morning 8/22, they currently still have the vehicle. I have had no updates from the dealer. No warning lamps/lights before or after the incident.

While driving with cruise control set at 65mph the vehicle will maintain set speed for a undetermined amount of time at which point the vehicle cruise will jump to a very high setting of 88mph....forcing me to shut the system down...this happens frequently and I can't determine what sets it off. Ford Dealer can't find anything wrong . Also the lane assist will constantly warn of not holding the wheel or lane in fractions forcing me to shake the steering wheel to let the system know I'm holding the wheel.

Since purchasing this vehicle in January of 2023, it has been to the dealer three times to repair a failed blind spot monitoring system and rear cross traffic alert system due to corroded pins in the connectors of the sensors. According to the dealer, this is due to the connector utilizing only four of eight pins which leaves four pins unused and open to corrosion. On the third trip in, the dealer applied, "super glue" to try and prevent any future corrosion. While there was not a specific accident related to this, I do believe this has the potential to cause issues in the future if not properly addressed by Ford. See attached pdf from dealer for additional supporting information.

On 2/20/23 my spouse was driving northbound around 9:30 am. When she heard what she describes as a gun shot. She immediately called me and I told her to pull over to the closest and safest spot. She explained that it sounded like the glass sunroof exploded. She climbed up to find that was the case. There was a huge gaping hole right in the center of the sunroof. We immediately took the 2022 Expedition to a Ford dealership close by. The dealership stated that Ford has not issued a bulletin or recall and because of that could not cover the repair under warranty. They stated that the damage indicates that an object hit the glass. I feel that this could not be correct since the glass is facing outward and the manner of which the glass shattered. Further I searched the internet and found that there have been several others dealing with the same issue. I came here hoping that by submitting this complaint Ford owns up to the issues that their consumers are having. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The rear glass busted after being inside the carport. Shattered. You could hear the glass sizzling when I found it. I have images of this. My concern is what this would have happened had my kids been in the car and the vehicle in motion.

3rd row seat has metal frame coming through cushion. Had seat cushion replaced once. Ford technician said was design flaw in vehicle and issue will continue to happen. Just had vehicle in again for same issue but Ford will not replace cushion this time because they confirmed other like vehicles are having same issue and deeming is a normal condition. This is a huge safety issue for my children. This is not a normal condition to have a cushion fall through and the metal seat frame is exposed.

The vehicle stopped running while driving, my wife stopped at a stop sign after vehicle had run ~ 10 minutes. Upon entering the inter-section the vehicle started to run rough, and ultimately stalled and would not restart. She was able to coast into a parking lot entrance within On Top of World subdivision where we live and get off of main road. After multiple AAA attempts to jump start, AAA confirmed the vehicle was unable to be jump started, therefore vehicle was towed to local ford dealership for diagnostics. They tried to jump start multiple times and after 2 days, pushed it into garage. They confirmed fuel pump failure and replaced with current design. We were charged for towing, new battery, and fuel pump system replacement with current design and advised we would have to bring it back in when Ford identified remedy for current recall. No loaner vehicle provided. We are very concerned as if this event had occurred on an interstate, there is a high risk of accident/injury. After repair with existing part designs we are worried about another failure on busy road/interstate.

Summary of Safety Issues with Chicco Car Seat 1.) Magnetic Chest Clip Disassembly (October 2023) ⢠At [XXX] old, my daughter disassembled the magnetic chest clip while seated in the car. ⢠She placed a small part in her mouth, creating a choking hazard. ⢠I was stranded until a replacement car seat could be brought. ⢠I replaced the clip with a plastic version Chicco provided, but the original design posed a serious and unacceptable safety risk. 2.Child Unlocking Base Mechanism (April 2025) ⢠My daughter is able to unlatch the seat from its base while rear-facing. ⢠She does this repeatedly, even after being re-secured. ⢠Chicco only sent a âlever lockâ cover despite my request for a full replacement, which was ignored. ⢠This flaw allows a toddler to disengage the seat mid-drive, rendering the product unsafe and unusable. 3.) Cup Holder Suffocation Hazard (June 2025) ⢠My daughter easily removes the silicone cup holders. ⢠On one occasion, she placed one over her mouth and nose, creating suction and restricting her breathing. ⢠I have since removed the cup holders entirely, though this alters the seatâs intended use. ⢠This presents a clear suffocation hazard. 4.) Excessive Rattling When Not in Use (Ongoing) ⢠When installed rear-facing and unoccupied, the seat rattles loudly during travel. ⢠The noise is so disruptive I have rotated the seat forward-facing at times to reduce it. ⢠While less severe than the other hazards, this reflects poor product integrity and contributes to ongoing safety concerns. BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
1 Report1% of totalPreviewing the first 1 complaint summaries.
