While accelerating on a busy tollway, the automatic transmission got stuck in 6th gear. The car then began to slow down, and the gear display went blank. This put my safety and the safety of others at risk, as it happened in the left lane of a busy, high-speed tollway. The local dealership refused to help--even though the car is within warranty--as they did not believe the issue was replicable. However, the car had a similar problem on a lower-speed roadway just a few weeks prior. In both incidents, the transmission became stuck in one gear, the gear display on the dashboard went blank, and the car began to decelerate.

The vehicle transmission has failed, potentially do to towing (the vehicle is supposed to be towable) I bought the vehicle to be able to tow behind our RV. We took a trip last July from Thousand Oaks, CA up through 5 national parks all of the way to Glacier National Park in Montana. The vehicle appeared to tow normally, i never had a problem getting the vehicle to indicate the Tow Mode was active. In January of this year (almost 6 months after the trip), my transmission made a clunking sound, and started to perform poorly. We called the dealership immediately to have it looked at. The dealer said i must have towed it incorrectly and therefore it won't be covered under warranty. I had a second opinion which did not agree with Ford's assessment. Ford had an engineer look at the transmission, and the engineer reiterated it must have been towed incorrectly. I asked how they assessed if the vehicle could have come out of tow mode through some error and the refused to answer or provide any additional details. They would only say that the transmission appears damaged from improper towing. I do not disagree with them that the vehicle could have been damaged during towing, what i disagree with is the assertion it was not properly in Tow Mode. I followed the process in the handbook, had a affirmation it was in tow mode every time before we moved the vehicle. When teh vehicle is attached to our RV there are two option. Park - when we are stationary for a period of time, or Tow Mode when moving. There are no other options. Ford said they have reported this incident already, i would like confirmation if possible to make sure. I would also like to know if other similar incidents have been reported.

We saw on the news our Ford Expedition could be recalled for "under hood fires." We checked our Ford App and it shows two recall issues. One for the "under hood fires" and one related to a "wiper arm loose." We have not received any recall notices from Ford but we received these notices on our Ford App. When we called Ford, we did not get anyone to help us. They just told us to park our car outside our garage away from the house. We called our local Ford Dealer and they did not know anything about the recall and repeated the statement to park outside the garage until they receive information on how to resolve the problem. We take good care of our vehicles so we don't like having our car sitting outside where it is subject to weather conditions. However, we are told the car could catch fire even when it is not turned on so we don't want to risk having our home burn down. Also, we are concerned of a safety issue of driving the car that it may catch fire. We purchased this vehicle to pull a small camper and camping season is starting. If we use this to pull our camper and the car can catch fire when not in use, we are concerned about the safety of having the car in the campground close to our camper. Ford needs to provide a resolution to this safety issue immediately. A customer should not feel they are at a risk of physical harm or harm to their home or camper. This should be a top priority to find a resolution to this problem. We should not have to park our car outside and we should not have to worry about driving the car with risk of a fire or risk of a fire in a campground by our camper. Please request Ford prioritize this safety issue an find a resolution immediately. We did not receive any recall letters for either of the recall issues - fire under the hood or wiper problem. Please require Ford to solve both issues but the most important is the "under hood" fire issue.

I received notice through carfax of a recall due to fire hazard. Numerous attempts at getting more information through ford has resulted in little more than referral to a local dealer. The dealer has no loaners available at this time. I Am forced to park in my driveway surrounded by trees as there is no place near me to park that avoids other structures In a chat with ford today I was told a potential temporary solution was to disconnect the battery. When I called the local dealer again and requested a quick disconnect be installed they said they donât /wonât do that. So I am back to square one. A new expensive suv which may burn down my house and no clear solution. If I were to install a quick disconnect on my own I was told it had to be done with a ford service (why if I am paying out of pocket for it). This is potentially dangerous situation and left hanging on my own Feel like how pinto owners must have felt

on 5/20/2022 I contacted my local dealership regarding recall 22V250 to discuss getting this issue repaired. I was scheduled an appointment on 6/16/2022 at 7:40 a.m. On 6/15/2022 I was told by the dealership that they were not going to repair my vehicle because I was not having any issues with it and I had to wait until there was a problem. When I made the appointment on 5/20/22 I was told that they would be able to repair it even if it was not broken and they would get the part ordered. I was told yesterday by the service manager that they had three parts in but they belonged to someone else and that since mine was not broken they could not fix it.

My car has a very scary safety recall. The important notice that I received states that Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to provide you with vehicle pickup and delivery, a rental vehicle or other alternate transportation all for FREE. I live in a very large city and can't find one dealership that says they buy into this free service. Not even the dealership where I purchased the vehicle. I do not have transportation to drop my vehicle and need this free service that is offered. I have contacted FORD with no response or help in finding a dealership that complies with their offer.

For the 3rd time attempting to pass other vehicles our transmission revved up to almost 5000 rpms and would not shift after making a huge clunking sound into an obviously to low gear. We had no power and the vehicle would not accelerate. I do have a video after the clunk sound but can't upload it.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that on two separate occasions while the cruise control was engaged at approximately 86 MPH, the RPM increased and the vehicle inadvertently accelerated; however, the contactâs husband was able to disengage cruise control to slow down. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician determined that the floormats had jammed the accelerator pedal however, the failure recurred. The contact then stated that on a separate occasion while the cruise control was engaged at approximately 84 MPH, the RPM increased rapidly and the vehicle inadvertently accelerated at high speeds however, the contactâs husband attempted to disengage cruise control, but the cruise control failed to disengage. As a result of the failure, the contactâs husband had to apply extreme pressure to the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The contactâs husband was able to navigate off the road then turned off and restarted the vehicle. The battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the residence and was then towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that an unknown sensor and the battery was faulty however, the actual cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to tow the vehicle to another dealer. The contact was provided a case number, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

Vehicle caught fire on February 29, 2024, with family members inside the vehicle. The fire appeared to start under the hood on the right passenger side, which would directly correlate with the current open recall. The family had just made a trip back from a basketball game and was dropping off a passenger when smoke was noticed. Upon further inspection, there was an active fire under the hood, which soon erupted into a burst of flames, causing the vehicle to be declared a total loss. Emergency responders had to be called to the scene to alleviate the fire. The fire report depicts a vehicle malfunction as the cause of the ignition. Ford has made no efforts to contact the consumer regarding the fire and subsequent damage.

My catalytic converter of my 2021 expedition is going out. We had a 2019 Ford Expedition Texas Edition and I had the same issue. We purchased our current expedition in April of 2023. This spring the converter was signaled with the check engine light and since then my vehicle has had issues with acceleration, it consumes gas at an extremely high rate and my engine works harder over time. My concern is that my vehicle will have an engine malfunction or put me into bankruptcy by the amount of gas it consumes per trip. I found that many other expeditions from the years 2018-2022 have similar issues to mine, in fact one of my friends in town had the same issue. I reported my issue to Ford and they said they would not repair. My vehicle has less than 80k miles on it.

I was on my way to my daughter's school. We got off the on ramp to her school and while waiting at the red stop light, my car stalled. The wheels locked. My brake pedal and gas pedal were not working when the stop light turned green. The car dashboard was showing the power to be on but nothing was working. After a minute, the battery light and the a light with the arrow that kind of circles around it started blinking. I put my hazards and waved people behind me to go around me. After a few minutes, my car started to go backwards on the on-ramp. I looked back and could feel and see my car going backwards toward the cars behind me. The traffic behind me on the on-ramp started to honk at me. They could see what was happening too. I put the car from drive to park and put my emergency brake and the car stopped. I called 911 and explained what was happening. After a few more minutes, two men in two different vehicles came and offered to help push my car. One of them asked me to put my car in neutral but my car was not allowing me to turn to the different shifts. All of a sudden my car starts blinking again. One of the guys told me to try to press the power again. All of a sudden my car starts powering up again. I thanked the two men and finished dropping off my daughter to school. From the time my car stalled and turned back on was about 8-9 minutes. This car has shown problems over and over with Ford. I have had 3 new car batteries since owning this vehicle in the 3 years I've had it. I've reported all the different car issues on the NHTSA website. I just had my oil changed a few months ago. My car just had a few things fixed in June. I have never been so shaken up like this before. My legs and hands could not stop shaking. I couldnât stop crying. Iâve never been so scared in my life in this vehicle. This was the first time my kid was with me when my car has stalled like this. For my car to lose complete function was the scariest moment in my life with my kid.

The reverse camera system does not display any images, i.e., the screen is black/blue (depending on night/day) and provides no view of what is behind the vehicle. The motion and parking sensors are still providing input, but the driver cannot see what the sensors are detecting. Since this is a large SUV with multiple blind spots, this creates a hazard when trying to back up the vehicle.

Daily the automatic transmission will erratically and forcefully downshift at highway speed. When changing Driving Modes the transmission display on the dash has numbers disappear and the transmission downshifts with great force which has lead to injuries. After sitting for more than a few hours the transmission will not go into reverse at first but will then violently shift into reverse after several minutes. These issues began not long after we purchased this vehicle new. The service manager at the dealership the vehicle was purchased from when I told him about these problems told me that I donât understand how a 10 speed transmission works. Sometimes the driverâs seatbelt will not buckle.

I have just found out that my pre-collision assist system has never worked in my vehicle since the day I purchased it brand new from the Ford dealership. My vehicle is 1 1/2 years old now and I never knew I had this function. Recently, I got a chip in the center of my windshield and I got it fixed. I asked how much a new windshield was and I was told a price and to make sure I get OEM glass and to have the camera in the front where the rearview mirror is calibrated correctly so the pre-collision assist will work correctly. I was somewhat confused and was like ok. I searched for the settings in my vehicle and sure enough there is a pre-collision setting which has been ON since who knows when because I never touched that setting before. Well, it has never worked because I have had countless encounters with vehicles and pedestrians cutting me off right in front of me while in operation. This is not good. And I read that 2020 Ford Expeditions have been recalled because of this. I believe it's happening to 2021 models as well. I expect to take my vehicle in for service ASAP.

The transmission is a major issue. I have had it in the shop 3 or 4 times now and still experiencing issues. The vehicle goes in and out of gear, doesnât always accelerate when giving it gas, jerks when slowing down/downshifting. Makes a loud noise during downshifting at times, and the list goes on. Ford knows there are problems and refuses to address the issue, applies a computer update to bandaid the issue, and sends customers on their way to only be faced with the issue a short time later.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS

The 360 degree backup camera displays a black screen when activated in both reverse and forward parking mode. This causes myself & any other driver to not have clear vision around the vehicle while in reverse posing a severe safety hazard. This problem has been reported & confirmed diagnostically from my local dealership as well as reported to Ford Motors itself resulting in a case being opened regarding the safety issue. I have been told by Ford on multiple occasions that they will expedite my case & call me back with information, however it has been over 6 weeks and I have had to call them e Rey time to follow up. This back up camera safety issue has already been recalled on other makes & models of Ford vehicles including the year model before my vehicle. My dealership told me that although this exact same issue is recalled on other vehicles, I would need to pay the estimated $1500 to repair my issue. This has caused me and my family a significant amount of stress because we have young children, drive carpool for elementary school and need to be able to see our surroundings dings when backing up and parking. Several times I have come close to hitting something when parking because I canât see from the camera. The NTHSB has also issued safety recalls for Ford backup cameras having this exact same issue and this is a huge safety issue for my model Ford as well. Ford knows thereâs a safety issue and is not taking this seriously. We intentionally paid extra for this camera to ensure adequate vision while reversing and parking, this is unacceptable on Fordâs part to not escalate this issue and repair the defective camera at no cost. I desperately need help in getting Ford to fix this before a serious avoidable injury or accident occurs. I do not have another car I can drive and am stressed every time I drive now.
