THE TRANSMISSION IS JERKY, CLUNKY, BOUNCES TO A STOP, BOUNCES AND LURCHES FORWARD WHEN STOPPING, WILL TAKE 2-3 SECONDS TO RESPOND TO PEDAL PUSH AND THEN TAKE OFF. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS WHEN STOPPING FOR PEDESTRIANS. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING, PERIOD. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 ACURA TLX. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.

DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT 70 MPH, THE CAR STARTS SPUTTERING THEN DECELERATED, IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE EVEN WHILE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. I PULLED OFF TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND THE LIGHTS STARTED FLICKERING, WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED "CHECK HILL START ASSIST SYSTEM", "CHECK EMISSION SYSTEM", "CHECK POWER STEERING SYSTEM", "CHECK BRAKE HOLD SYSTEM", "CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM", AND "CHECK PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM". AFTER SITTING IN THE EMERGENCY LANE AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS, THE CAR SHUT OFF. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BATTERY WITH A DEAD CELL. AMAZINGLY, OF ALL THE LIGHTS THAT ILLUMINATED, I NEVER RECEIVED ANY WARNING THAT I HAD DEAD BATTERY. THE BATTERY LIGHT DID NOT COME ON UNTIL THE OTHER WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS HAPPENED AT 35,246. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE SERVICE CENTER IN LESS THAN 10 MONTHS.

1. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE TRANSMISSION OCCASIONALLY FEELS LIKE IT SLIPS INTO NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE RES BUT DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD FOR 1-2 SECONDS. 2. CAR DOWNSHIFTS INTO 1ST GEAR AND LURCHES FORWARD AFTER COMING TO A STOP. 3. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY ABRUPTLY AND ROUGH DURING ALMOST ALL ACCELERATIONS.

DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, CRUISE CONTROL ON. TRIED TO ACCELERATE, USING PEDAL, TO PASS. NO RESPONSE FROM VEHICLE. DRIVER INFO CLUSTER WAS FLASHING "N" FOR NEUTRAL. MULTIPLE ERROR MESSAGES " CHECK TRANSMISSION", "CHECK EMISSIONS SYSTEMS", "CHECK PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM". CONFIRMED ENGINE WAS STILL ON, @ IDLE SPEED. PRESSED "D" TO RE-ENGAGE DRIVE. TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. FORCED TO COAST TO SIDE OF ROAD IN TRAFFIC WITH NO ABILITY TO ACCELERATE OR KEEP SPEED. ONCE UNDER 5 MPH TRANS MADE CLICKING SOUND AND EVENTUALLY ENGAGED "PARK" ABRUPTLY. MADE MORE UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS TO ENGAGE "DRIVE". GOT OUT CHECKED VEHICLE FOR ANY OBVIOUS MECHANICAL FAILURES. GOT BACK IN CAR TURNED OFF AND BACK ON. ERROR MESSAGES REMAINED BUT WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRANS TO ENGAGE DRIVE. DROVE VEHICLE TO SAFER PLACE OFF THE INTERSTATE. CALLED ACURA ROAD SIDE SERVICE. WHILE WAITING FOR SERVICE I TURNED CAR OFF AND RESTARTED. CAR CAME BACK UP "NORMAL". FINISHED MISSION. ACURA DEALER AT DESTINATION FOUND NO PROBLEMS OR STORED CODES.

The contact owns a 2016 Acura TLX. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an abnormal clicking sound was coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the connecting rod bearing was defective. The contact was instructed to no longer drive the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) which was linked to the failure. The local dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The contact owns a 2016 Acura TLX. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that after the initial start-up, there was a loud explosion coming from underneath the hood of the vehicle twice. The check engine warning light illuminated, and oil leaked underneath the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the rod bearings had failed causing the engine to fail. The engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 ACURA TLX. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND LUNGED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE DROVE OVER A CONCRETE CURB BARRIER AND WAS STOPPED BY BUSHES. THE CRASH DID NOT CAUSE THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A LOWER BACK SPRAIN INJURY ON THE LEFT SIDE. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 ACURA TLX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND VARIOUS UNKNOWN INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FRESNO ACURA (7250 N PALM AVE, FRESNO, CA 93711, (559) 431-3400) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND TURNING AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THESE INDICATORS CAME ON WHICH WERE THE VSA, POWER STEERING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND THE BRAKE SYSTEM CAME ONE. ONCE THESE INDICATORS CAME ON THE CAR STARTED STALLING AND WOULDN'T GO PAST 2 RPM AND HAD LACK OF POWER. SO WE HAD TO AUTOMATICALLY STOP AND PULL OVER TO THE SIDE. COUPLE OF CARS WERE BEHIND US AS WELL AND WE COULD HAVE CRASHED. WE TOOK ABOUT A MONTH OR SO BEFORE WE TOOK IT IN TO FRESNO ACURA AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP THAT'S BROKEN.

WHILE TRAVELING 75 MPH ON INTERSTATE MULTIPLE / ALL WARNING LIGHTS SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED ON DASH BOARD AND THE CAR PLACED ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL FROM DRIVE POSITION. UPON COMING TO REST CAR WAS PLACED INTO PARK ALONG SHOULDER AND WHEN DRIVE WAS SELECTED IT WOULD NOT ENGAGE. VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND ALLOWED TO SIT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING AGAIN. AGAIN IT WOULD NOT ALLOW TO GO INTO DRIVE. TOW TRUCK WAS DISPATCHED AND AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES CAR WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE. VEHICLE WAS THEN DRIVEN ABOUT 1/8 MILE ALONG SHOULDER TO VISIBLE REAR STOP ENTRANCE. WE WAITED FOR TOW TO TRUCK TO ARRIVE. CAR WAS RESTARTED AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE INTO DRIVE OR NEUTRAL WHEN ATTEMPTING TO LOAD ONTO TOW TRUCK. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS NEUTRAL AND DRIVE EVENTUALLY ENGAGED. CAR WAS TAKEN TO NEAREST DEALER JUST BEFORE CLOSE BEFORE MAJOR HOLIDAY. RECIEVED CALL FROM DEALER STATING THAT THE CAUSE OF ALL THIS WAS DEAD BATTERY. UNKNOWN TO THEM BATTERY WAS REPLACED Y MONTHS PRIOR. ALSO I HAVE DTS REPORT SHOWING MULTIPLE MALFUNCTIONS AND ERRORS. I FEEL THAT IF ALL THIS CAN HAPPEN BY HAVING A DEAD BATTERY (THAT SOMEHOW ALLOWS YOU TO RESTART YOUR CAR MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER INITIAL MALFUNCTION) THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. I CALLED DEALERSHIP BACK AND ASKED THEM TO DOUBLE CHECK DIAGNOSIS AND ALSO CHECK ALTERNATOR BEING THAT THE BATTERY IS ONLY 6 MONTHS OLD.

NEXT THING I KNOW THE STEERING WHEEL IS CROOKED AND ALMOST EVERY WARNING LIGHTS HAVE TURNED ON AND I STARTED GETTING ALL THE WARNING SOUNDS DESCRIBING MORE WARININGS THAN I COULD CHECK ON THE SECOND PAGE ON THIS INCIDENT REPORT. I BARELY BOUGHT MY ACURA A FEW MONTHS AGO SO I'M VERY SHOCKED BE HAVING SUCH A SCARY INCIDENT SO FAST. I THOUGHT ACURA'S WERE DEPENDABLE RELIABLE CARS THAT WOULD KEEP ME AND MORE IMPORTANTLY MY CHILDREN SAFE. I FELT SO SCARED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN. 2016 ACURA TLX 39,462 MILES ON ODOMETER. THE ENGINE LOST POWER. THE WARNING LIGHT DISPLAYED PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM MALFUNCTION, EMISSION SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. AFTER 3 TIMES SHUTTING OFF AND TURNING ON THE POWER BUTTON, THE CONDITION WENT BACK TO NORMAL.

The contact owns a 2016 Acura TLX. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would jerk without warning. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V060000(Fuel System, Other) which the contact linked to the vehicle failure. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was made for service. Before the vehicle was serviced, the contact stated that the vehicle stalled while making a left turn; as a result, another vehicle into the rear passenger side door. The air bags deployed upon impact, and no injuries were reported. A police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent mechanic and was later towed to an Acura collision center where it remained in their possession. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Acura TLX. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned on the hazard lights. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove to the residence. An independent mechanic had diagnosed the vehicle at the residence and informed the contact that the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V060000 (Fuel System, Other); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

THE HEADREST IS CRIPPLING. I AM 5 FOOT 5 INCHES WITH GREAT POSTURE. WHEN I SIT IN THE SEAT, THE HEADREST PITCHES MY HEAD FORWARD AND HURTS. THE LONGER THE DRIVE THE WORSE IT HURTS. 2 CHIROPRACTORS SAY IT IS MECHANICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE HUMAN BODY TO SIT THIS WAY. ON MY 2016 ACURA TLX I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE SEAT PLASTIC TRIM THAT BREAKS EVERY OTHER YEAR AND FOR MULTIPLE OTHER OWNERS IT HAPPENS EVERY 9 MONTHS. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WHEN YOU WANT TO ADJUST THE SEAT YOU CAN PUT YOUR FINGERS IN THE WHOLE AND CUT YOUR FINGERS. I AM OUTRAGED WHY NO RECALL IS DONE BY THIS POINT WHERE MULTIPLE OWNERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM STARTING 2015 UNTILL 2019 FROM WHAT I SEE ON MULTIPLE FORUMS AND I HAVE THE LINK TO ALL THOSE FORUMS IF NEEDED. I WENT TO ACURA DEALERSHIP AND THEY FIXED AT NO COST WHEN THE CAR WAS IN WARRANTY BUT NOW MY CAR IS NOT IN WARRANTY AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO FIX IT FOR LESS THAN $460. I AM NOT PAYING $460 FOR A FAKE PREMIUM CAR WHEN THIS IS NOT MY FAULT BUT A DESIGN FLAW BECAUSE THEY PLACED A METAL PIECE RIGHT UNDER THE PLASTIC TRIM. ON OR AROUND THE END OF MARCH OR FIRST OF APRIL 2018, I PURCHASED A ACURATLX 2016. IT WAS FROM AN INDIVIDUAL, BUT, HE HAD A CERTIFICATE OF 100% APPROVAL THAT EVERYTHING WAS PROPERLY WORKING FROM JERRY DAMSON ACURA DEALERSHIP IN HUNTSVILLE, AL. I TEST DROVE THE CAR AND FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. I PAID CASH FOR THE CAR, AND RECIEVED THE TITLE FROM HIM. MY MOTHER AND 4YR. OLD DAUGHTER WAS WITH ME. I PUT HER CAR SEAT IN THE BACK AND MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE ON OUR WAY HOME (APPROX.90 MILES) BUT, WE HAD TO STOP AT A GAS STATION FIRST THE CAR WAS ON EMPTY. I DROVE APPROX. 3 MILES AND I PULL IN TO THE GAS STATION. I DROVE UP TO THE PUMP AND PUT IT IN PARK. I HAVE NOT OPENED MY DOOR OR TURN OFF THE ENGINE. ALL OF A SUDDEN MY LEFT ARM AND SHOULDER WERE HURTING IN THE MOST INTENSE PAIN. MY DAUGHTER WAS SCREAMING AND MY MOTHER HAD PULLED UP BESIDE ME IN HER CAR. Tire size 225/55R17. - Sidewall separation on the inside portion of two tires (unable to identify from looking at tires on vehicle, this could go unnoticed by the driver). No tires were removed from Acura. I do have photos of this safety hazard. - Tires could have blown out while driving and a crash occurring injuring driver or other vehicles on the road. After seeing the tire separation they technicians advised not to drive car vehicle safety hazard. - Unknown if problem was able to be reproduced. - Tire was not inspected by any representative only Acura dealership technicians. - Yes, there were symptoms, when driving at low speeds under 20 mph a squeaky noise was heard, as speed increased the noise was more frequent.

Transmission fails mid drive on freeway. Multiple vehicles had to avoid the possibility of horrific collision. Vehicle has lost engine power and will not exceed 60mph. I have. Check in with a Facebook Acura group and more the. 2,000 members had the same issue. All Acuras from 2016 to 2023 had failed transmissions at 10k miles to 45k miles.
