The 360 view camera works wonderfully with sufficient light. In dark or dimly lit areas, the camera is totally dark and unusable. Parking in a dark parking lot or area is not possible using the camera. When I was trying to park between the parking lines in the rain in early morning I had to get out of the car to see if I was in the lines. I have taken the car back to the dealer and they state that there are no issues with the camera system. Many owners on Volvo forums state similar issues. I can provide pictures upon request.

Backup camera will fail to work, on occasion, when car put into reverse. This problem is known by Volvo and I have been told "they are working on it." Searching the Internet I see that this has been an issue since late 2022. I have brought my car to the dealer two times and the problem remains. The last time this happened was 2 days ago (did not drive the car yesterday). Please see [XXX] for more information. Thank you. When slowing to a stop the vehicle is unsmooth and unpredictable, there is also a sudden release when braking downhill (not sure if they are related). Thereâs been occasions where the car lurched when coming to a stop almost resulting in me rear ending the vehicle in front of me. The unsmooth/unpredictable stopping only happens at speeds under 10mph when approaching a stop like with city driving. Iâve had it to the dealership two times for this. Theyâve had trouble reproducing it, but acknowledged it is unsmooth and said thatâs just the way the regenerative braking was designed. The holding back and release when braking downhill is completely random.

While driving on the interstate 5 in Seattle, WA this Volvo rental car from National had the Multi-media screen went blank. No tell-tales nor instrument readings. The 360 camera and reverse camera systems worked as not part of the Android system. The infotainment system encountered a problem with an Android System with data corrupt. Had to reset factory data reset. Given this is a non-compliance to FMVSS Controls and Displays per Standard 101, I feel obligated to report this concern for driver safety around compatability of the Android system used by Volvo.

URGENT SAFETY CONCERN: Intermittent Total Loss of All Vehicle Audio Alerts This issue has occurred multiple times and poses a serious safety concern. While driving, the vehicle intermittently experiences a complete loss of all audio output. This includes: â¢Turn signal indicators â¢Hazard warning sounds â¢Blind spot monitoring alerts â¢Park distance control tones â¢Navigation guidance â¢Audio system playback (music, radio, etc.) â¢All other safety-related audio warnings and notifications The vehicle becomes completely silent, eliminating essential auditory cues that are critical for safe operation. Temporary Workaround (While Driving): The only way to restore functionality is by performing a forced reboot of the infotainment system. This requires the driver to press and hold the home button until the system power cyclesâa distracting and unsafe action that must be done while the vehicle is in motion. Please note that while rebooting does not disable the vehicleâs ability to drive, it temporarily resets multiple core systems, including the climate control and infotainment interface. This creates a significant distraction and impairs the driverâs ability to safely monitor vehicle status and surroundings. This malfunction poses a significant safety risk and must be investigated immediately.

I was driving in the right hand lane on a two lane road where the speed limit is 30mph. While the road was curving to the left slightly the vehicle's Collision Avoidance System was triggered and swerved the car into the left lane towards on coming traffic and cutting off a car behind me. The road was completely empty in front of me. It created a dangerous situation for no reason. I have dashcam footage that captured the moment the car intervened that I can provide if requested, I'm unable to upload video on this portal.

Automatic Intervention Collision Avoidance system activated unnecessarily and unexpectedly during a freeway exit. There were no cars ahead within a reasonable distance, but there was a car in the adjacent lane of a âdualâ parallel exit lane on the freeway. There was a solid white line between vehicles and the system seemed to interpret both vehicles exiting the freeway simultaneously as a ânear collisionâ when in fact we were both operating correctly. I did not notice any intrusion or movement of the adjacent vehicle into our lane. The response from the vehicle was a sudden and violent movement of the steering wheel to the left and I believe application of the brakes although I am not certain of that. This event occurred in the southbound lanes of [XXX] near [XXX]. The exit, I believe, is for [XXX] [XXX] . This was a rental vehicle. Impossible to see with backup camera at night in a low-light area. It's like not having a camera. This was never a problem with my 2015 Volvo S60 and is not a problem with my wife's 2014 Volvo XC60. The problem is that the touchscreen/dashboard brightness needs to be lowered at night so that it's not too bright. Either the screen needs to get brighter, temporarily, when backing up at night or the camera needs to provide a brighter image. Previous Volvo backup camera implementations did not have this issue. Volvo has been aware of this problem and has no fix. This is a safety issue, i e., like not having a backup camera at night.

The rear back-up camera does not work. This occurs at least a few times a week with routine, daily driving. The vehicle starts normal and software loads normal; however, upon shifting to reverse, the camera is not displayed. Instead, I receive an error message stating that the camera is not available. My vehicle already has the recall for updated software that was intended to fix the camera issue (software version 3.5.24); however, the issue is worse with this software version. On previous versions, this issue occurred only a couple times a month. It not happens weekly.

The contact owns a 2024 Volvo S60. The contact stated that while pulling into a handicap parking spot in the parking spot located in front of Barnes and Noble, on 12/16/2025 around 6:40 P.M., the vehicle experienced uncommanded /unattended acceleration, and the brakes failed when depressed and pressed against the floorboard. and crashed into the cement barrier, which slowed it, and then the vehicle stopped. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was able to drive away from the crash. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer. The contact had pre-existing spinal injuries and five cervical surgeries. It was undetermined if he was injured during the failure, but he will be seeking medical attention. There was no reported fire, airbag deployment, or police report filed. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle had recently been serviced. The contact mentioned he was not made aware of a possible issue with the vehicle during the purchase. The contact had linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number 25V392000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Service Brakes). The contact hired an engineer who inspected the vehicle, but there were no findings or codes. The manufacturer was contacted, who filed a case. The contact had informed the insurance company. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

The contact owns a 2024 Volvo S60. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, a message stating that the propulsion system was reduced was displayed, and the vehicle came to a complete stop in the middle of the road, nearly causing a crash. Additionally, the steering wheel seized, the gear shift indicator light turned off, and the four wheels seized while the engine continued to run. A Police Officer arrived at the scene and directed traffic to prevent a crash. The vehicle was towed to the nearest dealer, where it was diagnosed with fuel pump failure. The dealer replaced the fuel pump and informed the contact that the vehicle had been repaired. The contact informed the dealer that he felt unsafe driving the vehicle because the steering wheel and the wheel had seized while the engine was still running, which prevented the contact from pulling to the side of the road. The dealer informed the contact that no other failure was found and that the vehicle operated as designed. The dealer towed the vehicle to the residence, and the contact had not driven the vehicle since the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and of the safety concerns but advised the contact that the diagnostic report from the dealer only showed a failure with the fuel pump. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

When my son got a car last December, we bought him a 2024 Volvo s60, primarily for the safety features. Since we have had the vehicle, Volvo has had a lot of issues with their infotainment system. He has contacted them many times and I had started to keep a record of how often it would glitch. If it was just music not working, no big deal. But sometimes it was the backup camera too and once the heat. He recently had a car accident. He is okay (of course shaken up) but it was a bad situation. A van had dropped a lot of items. Plumbing and metal shelving. There was a pick up who was trying to avoid it. My son tried to avoid the pick up unsuccessfully but partially because his wheels landed on metal shelving and he was sliding on the road. The accident report captured this. His car was totaled. The purpose of this email is that the car was totaled, as even though he was braking as hard as he could, his tire was sliding on that shelving so he did have quite a hard impact. Not one safety feature worked on this vehicle, not the SOS, not the forward, not the airbags. My intuition is telling me it's all related to these many issues with the electronics in this car (recharge models have had this issue and been recalled). Before they dispose of the vehicle I wanted to consult with an attorney to see if we have any recourse with Volvo, especially because safety is why we bought the car. It is currently at the body shop. The infotainment has had an issue forever.

I was at a stoplight with my foot on the brake. The car lurched forward, which prompted me to push harder on the brake. Then, with my foot firmly on the brake, the car accelerated into the car in front of me. There was body damage to the car. Volvo investigated and said that the computer indicated that the gas pedal was engaged at 90% while the brake was engaged at the same time. This would involve me putting my foot on the gas and brake at the same time, which simply is not what happened. There is clearly something wrong with their computer system. The same problem was identified in the XC40 Recharge EV model.
