SEATBELTS ARE WET AND MOISTURE IS BUILDING UP IN THE CAR AFTER HEAVY RAIN WHILE SUNROOF AND ALL DOORS CLOSED AND CAR IS PARKED. POSSIBLY A SUNROOF DRAINING ISSUE. Water coming in through sunroof and pooling in the back seat foot pans. Only reason I was aware was first because someone with the same vehicle told me it happened to them and second I began to see moisture and ice on the inside of the windshield. Also began to have a mold odor. This lead to corrosion of the floor pans and damage to electrical wiring. Unknown what other long term damage could be caused.

BOUGHT CAR ON 4/6/ 2020 BRAND NEW AT 2600 MILES OIL LITE CAME ON I CHECKED AND IT NEEDED 1 QUART.I WENT TO DEALER THEY CHECKED IT AND ADDED 1 QUART AND TOLD ME TO COME BACK WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN . I CHECK IT EVERY WEEK AND NOW 9/21/20 IT IS ADD THE ADD POINT ON THESTICK ODOMETER NOW AT 3800 MILES. THIS HIGH CONSUMPTION IS TO MUCH.THE LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON YET BUT I DONT LIKE RUNNING IT DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE STICK. I HAD A 2019 TIGUAN AND IT NEVER NEEDED OIL AND HAD OVER 8000 MILES ON IT.I BELIEVE THEY MADE CHANGES TO THE ENGINE AND IM NOT HAPPY WITH IT .THEY NEED TO DO SOMETHIG ABOUT IT SOON. MY CHANGE OIL SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND KEPT REMINDING ME DAILY FOR 10 DAYS THAT I NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TODAY AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD ONLY CHANGE THE OIL AT 10,000 MILES. I ONLY HAD 5800 MILES BUT THE OIL WAS LOW SO THEY ADDED OIL. I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THE CAR 6 MONTHS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE NEW ENGINES OR SHOULD THE OIL REALLY BE CHANGED AT 6000 MILES? I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING ISSUES WITH A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BY VOLKSWAGEN TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2020 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING ENGAGED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WAITED FOR A MINUTE THEN DROVE TO HIS DESTINATION WITH NO FURTHER ISSUES. THE CONTACT CALLED JOE HEIDT MOTORS VOLKSWAGEN (515 RT 17 N, RAMSEY, NJ 07446, (201) 327-2900) AND WAS INFORMED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED IMMEDIATELY. THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,722.

MY VEHICLE'S FRONT ASSIST COLLISION SENSOR WILL ENGAGE ITSELF WHILE GOING DOWN SOME DRIVEWAYS REGARDLESS OF HOW SLOW OR ANGLED I TRY TO EXIT (I ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT MY EXIT AND TURNS ARE SAFE FROM ANY ONGOING TRAFFIC SO THE SENSOR IS ONLY BEING TRIPPED FROM GROUND IN FRONT OF THE SENSOR). I HAVE BEEN ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED THREE TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS AND ALMOST HIT FROM THE SIDE WHEN THE THE SENSOR ENGAGED WHEN I WAS MORE THAN HALFWAY OUT INTO THE FIRST LANE TO MAKE MY TURN. VW DEALER THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM SAID, IT IS THE DRIVER'S RESPONISBILITY TO MANUALLY TURN OFF THE FRONT ASSIST COLLISION SENSOR EACH AND EVERY TIME YOU INTEND TO DRIVE THE CAR.

BRAKES STARTING SQUEALING PERIODICALLY WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES LIGHTLY, WITH ONLY 1,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL. BRAKES NOW SQUEALING NEARLY ALL THE TIME WHEN BRAKES APPLIED LIGHTLY, NOT SO MUCH IF BRAKING HEAVILY. VEHICLE HAS 5,000 MILES ON IT. HAD ANOTHER VW DEALERSHIP LOOK AT IT AND THEY SAID THE SAME THING, IT IS NORMAL AND NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. HANDED A BROCHURE TO CONVINCE ME IT OK.

THE VEHICLE WAS BACKED OUT OF A PARKING SPACE IN A LOT. A POP WAS HEARD AND THE BRAKE THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND EVENTUALLY STOPPED. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHOWED FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER. I HAD VW TOW THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ORDERED A NEW BRAKE BOOSTER AND REPLACED IT. ON MAY 7, 2021 THE SAME SYMPTOM HAPPENED AND I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY AGAIN TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THEIR LOCATION. I AM WAITING FOR A CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON THE DIAGNOSIS.

The Overhead Console Detached and was hanging down and blocking the rearview mirror and proper vision along with hanging in mid air. The overhead console just began to fall and looked loose and then a day later was hanging all the way. This is clearly an issue, I have googled it and immediately found that this has happened to others and I find that the terminology that the dealer uses is similar amoungst customers to put the blame on the customer and say it is not a faulty part. The screws that hold this piece up seem to have been over screwed causing this overhead console to detach. I also saw others report that they get it fixed and it even happens again and again it is not covered due to the plastic breaks too and they say that is an outside force that the plastic broke. With this part broken I am also unable to open my sunroof too. Another point I would like to make is that if my husband was not able to disconnect the wires I would of had to drive with the part hanging in the way. I tried to duct tape it up and unhook it and it did not stay up nor was I able to unhook it. I also saw comments stating that this is happening to vehicles when it is hot out and it has been hot the past month or so here. I think the worst part is that a dealer is basically saying you are lying and had to damage the part which I have no idea how you would of even damaged the part due to the location of the part. I am completely dissatisfied with the dealer and how they handle the situation by saying it is the customers fault when clearly you can google it and find others with the same issue, did everyone damage the same part that is located in an awkward location? I dont think so.

The car was parked outside during the summer. Opened the car door and noticed the entire overhead console above the driver had detached, and was broken, hanging head high by the wire connections. The plastic is broken around the screws that usually hold it into place, so it cannot be reattached without getting a replacement part installed. Driving is dangerous when this occurs as the entire console sways back and forth in front of the driver, hitting them, which in turn obstructs visibility through front windshield, internal and exterior rearview mirrors and is an overall distraction/hazard to the driver. Also cannot utilize overhead lights and other functionality while the overhead console is detached. No warnings or way of predicting this from occurring. This is the second time this has occurred in the span of 1 year to this vehicle. Had dealership install new overhead console after this happened the first time.

MY CAR ALERTS ME AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN I AM DRIVING DOWN OPEN WINDING ROADS THAT I AM GOING TO GET IN A COLLISION WHEN THERE ARE NO CARS OR OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. IT ALSO GOES OFF WHEN I'M DRIVING THROUGH CONSTRUCTION AND THERE'S CONES ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BUT I'M NOT EVEN CLOSE TO HITTING. IN MICHIGAN, WE HAVE A LOT OF CONSTRUCTION SO IT SHOULDN'T BE GOING OFF AND SCARING ME ALL THE TIME. IT WILL ALSO HAPPEN IN SPURSE, SO IT'LL GO OFF THREE OR FOUR TIMES ON THE SAME ROAD IN THE SAME DAY AND THEN NOT GO OFF AGAIN FOR WEEKS. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALER TWICE TO BE LOOKED AT AND BOTH TIMES THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. IT CONTINUES TO RANDOMLY ALERT BE WHEN I AM NOT IN DANGER OF AN ACCIDENT BUT IT ENDS UP SCARING ME ANYWAYS AND MAKING ME THINK I'M ABOUT TO BE HIT. IT HAS GONE OFF ON THE HIGHWAY, OPEN ROADS, CITY STREETS, AND CONSTRUCTION ZONES. THANKFULLY THE AUTO-BREAKING HASN'T TURNED ON BUT I'M ALSO CONCERNED IT WILL AND THEN THAT ITSELF WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I BELIVE WHATEVER SENSOR IT USES IS FAULTY, BUT AGAIN THE DEALERSHIP HAS REAFFIRMED BE TWICE THAT THEY SAW NO ISSUES WITH IT.

ERC code popped up on Dashboard while driving in 2021 and the vehicle wouldn't go over 30 mph. Took it to the Volkswagen dealership in November 2021. Between November and February of 2022, I took the vehicle back, after having it for less than 2 hours, with the same ongoing issue. Started having the same issues after the final pick up. Fast forward to November of 2022, in addition to the ERC, my vehicle battery drained and I am unable to start the car unless I jump start it. Replaced the battery and still the same issue. The battery does not stay charged and it is a brand new battery.

DRIVER'S SIDE REAR SEAT BELT, BEING USED WITH HIGH-BACK CHILD BOOSTER CAR SEAT (GRACO),LOCKED UP WITH CHILD IN THE CAR SEAT. THE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT RELEASE AND GOT TIGHTER AS THE CHILD TRIED TO RELEASE IT. ADULTS COULD NOT RELEASE THE BELT OR REMOVE CHILD FROM THE CAR SEAT. THE SEATBELT HAD TO BE CUT TO REMOVE THE CHILD. THE CAR SEAT HAS BEEN IN USE IN VARIOUS OTHER VEHICLES (HONDA, FORD, SUBARU AND AUDI) WITHOUT INCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO FAIL WHILE PARKED, THE CHECK ENGINE AND EPC LIGHTS CAME ON. IT BEGAN TO FAIL AS IF IT HAD NO STRENGTH. ON DECEMBER 23, THE DEALER WAS TAKEN FOR THE THIRD TIME DUE TO THE SAME PROBLEM, THE FIRST TIME THEY TOLD US THAT IT WAS GASOLINE (PUMA) THAT THAT BRAND COULD NOT BE USED, THEY CHANGED THE BRAND TO SHELL AND CONTINUED WITH THE PROBLEM. BEFORE THIS HAPPENED, THE DELER MADE US A RECALL OF SOMETHING AND AFTER THIS IT WAS THAT THE FAILURES BEGAN. THE BUS ONLY HAS 3,500 MILES. THE LAST THING THEY TOLD US THAT WHAT IS DAMAGED IS THE EVAPORATOR TODAY IS DECEMBER 30 AND THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO ME. THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE SUSPENSION SOUNDS WHEN YOU GET A BUMP OR A HOLE IN THE ROAD AND TELL US THAT IT IS NORMAL IN THE VEHICLE.

Car exhaust is under car and does not come outside of under the car. We were in an accident and were told that because there are now cracks and gaps under the car that the exhaust is leaking into the body of our car and could cause co2 poisoning. If the exhaust were not under the car there wouldn’t be a safety concern

The contact owns a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated while parking the vehicle when it accelerated independently and crashed into 2 different vehicles. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated she had visible bruises on her sternum, right thumb, and upper left chest from the seat belt. Airbags did not deploy. The contact did seek medical attention the next day. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,700. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED.

When the car is parked under the Sun on hot days. The car will lose the power and we get message on Dashboard "Check Starter System" When this happens and car is running, it will lose power, No AC, No Lights, No Brake Lights, No Hazard Lights, Speedometer will not work but Engine is running and you can drive the car. It is extremely dangerous to drive it that way. Some folks reported that replacing faulty ignition switch resolve the issue but it needs to be properly investigated and issue official recall on all VW models which are experiencing the issue. Overhead console falls out for no reason, impairing forward vision. Came out of work and found it hanging. Needed to drive with one hand and hold the console with the other. VW is aware of this and is not notifying owners. My dealer has several waiting for parts that are taking a month. Am I supposed to drive an unsafe vehicle for a month? They will not give me a loaner and suggested I use packing tape to hold it in place. Tape does not work; the console is too heavy. This happened without warning

The contact leased a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated that while his wife was entering the vehicle, she noticed that the overhead console was not properly secured. While his wife was driving at unknown speeds in high temperatures, the overhead console detached from the roof. The contact was unable to utilize the lights, blue tooth, sunroof, and other features on the console. Additionally, the wires were exposed. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where the contact was informed that the parts were backordered; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Covina Volkswagen (528 S Citrus Ave, Covina, CA 91723) where the console was disconnected. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 34,799.

The contact owns a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated that water was entering the rear seat of the vehicle. The contact stated that the water intrusion had caused a short circuit in the vehicle and the vehicle was driving with Reduced Engine power. The contact stated that the water intrusion also disrupted the Bluetooth functionality. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the gateway control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V947000 (Electrical System, Structure). The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that the center console had detached and struck the contact on the head. There were no serious injuries sustained; however, the contact stated a red mark was left on his head. The contact was concerned that the failure could recur while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the diagnostic test result was not disclosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000. The VIN was not included.

THIS CAR IS NOT EVEN 6 MONTHS OLD AND WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THE TIRE BLEW, MY CAR FISHTAILED AND I HIT A GUARDRAIL. THE TIRE IS SHREDDED. I TOOK IT TO A TIRE SHOP THE SAME NIGHT AND THEY SAID THIS IS NOT WHAT TYPICALLY HAPPENS TO A TIRE.

The motor mounts failed and need to be replaced, the car has never been in an accident or even driven in harsh conditions. There is another part that failed in the engine which causes it to leak oil. The vehicle has a hard time accelerating intermittently.

I've been having backup camera problems since I purchased this vehicle in June 2020. It only works 20% of the time. There have been times were I don't see people or vehicles as I back up. I've only been seen for service twice. I don't have the time to take it in once a week for them to do to a hard reset or replace the J949 Module. I've attached a service receipt. Usually just have a black screen. Below is the address to a consumer report page detailing the issues. One of the fuel injectors cracked along with the fuel rail leading to a very large fuel leak. There was also an oil leak at the same time, but the origin has not been diagnosed. The vehicle was towed to the dealership to diagnose the problem and attempt repair. There were no warning lights, signs, or symptoms. I started the vehicle and drove approximately 20 ft to a stop sign, going under 10 mph, and all of a sudden smelled an extreme odor of gasoline. The check engine and other driver alerts came on.

On three separate occasions the power steering unit lost power, after restarting the car it would work again.

Water coming in through sunroof and pooling in the back seat foot pans. Only reason I was aware was first because someone with the same vehicle told me it happened to them and second I began to see moisture and ice on the inside of the windshield. Also began to have a mold odor. This lead to corrosion of the floor pans and damage to electrical wiring. Unknown what other long term damage could be caused.

The contact owns a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance system and Forward Collision Avoidance Automatic Emergency braking engaged. The brake warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The failure reoccurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic who was unable to retrieve a fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact requested that the dealer notify the manufacturer of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 17,000. The contact stated that Legend VW inspected the vehicle a second time and did not find an issue.

I've been having backup camera problems since I purchased this vehicle in June 2020. It only works 20% of the time. There have been times were I don't see people or vehicles as I back up. I've only been seen for service twice. I don't have the time to take it in once a week for them to do to a hard reset or replace the J949 Module. I've attached a service receipt. The contact rented a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated driving 60 MPH, the vehicle independently pulled across the lanes of the highway with the ABS warning light illuminated. The contact was not able to control the vehicle. The contact was able to exit the highway and was able to get the vehicle to come to a complete stop. The vehicle was towed back to the car rental office. The contact was unsure if the vehicle was diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 70,000. The VIN was not available.

The contact owns a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the contact turned on the windshield washer fluid to clean the front and rear windshield and the windshield washer fluid leaked into the vehicle onto the brake and accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the windshield washer fluid level was low. The dealer was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted, and the manufacturer stated that there was no recall for the failure and that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The manufacturer filed a case. The failure mileage was 60,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated upon depression of the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and Schumacher Volkswagen of West Palm Beach (3001 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33409) and the contact was informed that the mechanics were unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Hit head on by other vehicle and airbags did not deploy.

The headliner control panel just falls which distracts the driver as well as all forward safety components fail to respond. I feel it is dangerous as this is extremely distracting
