TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WHEELS SEIZED WHICH RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE HITTING THE SIDE WALK WHILE BEING OPERATED APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD AND THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED OPERABLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MIKES AUTO BODY WHERE THEY WERE INFORMED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V070000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE). THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN 17V070000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE VEHICLES VIN WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS TOLD TO CONTACT THE NHTSA TO GET THEIR VIN ADDED TO THE CAMPAIGN. THE DRIVER THAT OPERATED THE VEHICLE SUFFERED FROM A HEAD INJURY NO MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000.

I HAVE READ SEVERAL PLACES ABOUT PEOPLE HAVING AN ISSUE OF HAVING CARS OF THIS YEAR STALLING WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I AM FEARFUL MY ISSUE COULD TURN INTO THIS. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT PROVOCATION IN THE CAR I HAD JUST PURCHASED ON MARCH 21, 2017. I HAD JUST PULLED TO A STOP TO ALLOW A PASSENGER TO DISEMBARK IN THE PARKING LOT OF A CONVENIENCE STORE. THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED MAKING A HORRIFIC NOISE AND ENGULFING THE INSIDE OF THE CAR WITH WHITE SMOKE. THE CAUSE OF THE DEPLOYMENT IS UNKNOWN. THE CAR DID NOT COLLIDE WITH ANYTHING. THE PROBLEM WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON APRIL 5, 2017 AND TO THE CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS OF VOLKSWAGEN ON APRIL 7, 2017. THE CASE # IS 170305419. TO DATE THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN SOLVED. NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE AN EXPLANATION FOR WHAT HAPPENED, AND THE CAR IS STILL STILLING ON THE LOT OF THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS RETURNED.

The fuse that controls the exterior lights (tail, marker,etc.) and interior lights at first interment would blow/burn out. Sometimes after a few days or a few months for the past year. In the past few weeks the fuse blows immediately once replaced. The car was brought to a VW dealer a year ago who changed the fuse and ran a diagnostic. It was brought back 4-5 months later and they again changed the fuse and ran a diagnostic. The second time was not given a slip indicating it was was there for the service and was not charged. While I understand no charge there is no no proof of service. As the fuse controls all the lights the car is dark at night.

ISSUE ON ZERO INTENSITY OF THE INSTRUMENTS GAUGE ILLUMINATION DURING THE DAYTIME I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE DIMMED INSTRUMENT GAUGES ON MY 2017 JETTA AND CONFIRMED THIS IS DUE TO THE AUTOMATIC ILLUMINATION ADJUSTMENT FEATURE OF THE MODEL. THIS REPORT COVERS ONLY FOR THE SPECIFIC VIN, HOWEVER, THE ISSUE IS CAUSED BY THE DESIGN, ANY MODEL YEAR JETTA AND THE SAME DESIGN ARCHITECTURE MODELS FROM VW WILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE UNDER BRIGHT SUNLIGHT WHILE DRIVING ON THE REGULAR STREET, BUT A BIT OF SHADY AREA BY NEARBY TREE OR BUILDING. EVEN I'M USING THE SUNGLASSES DUE TO THE REFLECTION OF SUN LIGHT OR DIRECTION OF THE CAR FACING TO AT THAT TIME. MY 2017 JETTA HAS LIGHT SENSOR IN BETWEEN A BIT OFFSET POSITION OF TACHOMETER LETTER "7" AND "8", THAT IS ABOUT 1/4 INCH OR 5 MM DIAMETER IN SIZE, AND THIS SENSOR CONTROLS THE ILLUMINATION OF BOTH TACHOMETER AND SPEED GAUGE. (GRAPHIC LCD DISPLAY AND NEEDLES KEEPS THE FULL BRIGHTNESS.) IT WILL BE DARK IF SURROUNDING IS DARK AND BECOMES BRIGHT IF SURROUNDING IS BRIGHTER. THIS CONTROLS TOO MUCH AND BECOMES ZERO INTENSITY IS NOT ACCEPTABLE ACCORDING TO THE REGULATION "S5.3.2 BRIGHTNESS OF ILLUMINATION OF CONTROLS AND INDICATORS" UNDER "49 CFR 571.101 - STANDARD NO. 101; CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS." I DID CONTACT WITH VW OF AMERICA TO INFORM THIS ISSUE, BUT CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVE CANNOT DO ANYTHING BEYOND DIAGNOSTIC RESULT AT DEALER THAT THEY ARE INSISTED THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS SPEC. IT IS VERY SIMPLE TO REPLICATE THE SAME ISSUE AT ANY LOCATION, WITHOUT DRIVING AND WITHOUT TURN ON THE ENGINE. IT JUST SIMPLY COVERING THE LIGHT SENSOR AREA BY THE PALM OR ANY CLOTH TO IMITATE THE DARKNESS WHILE IGNITION IS ON. IT IS EVEN DARKER THAN ILLUMINATION WHILE HEADLIGHT ON AT THAT TIME FOR EXPERIMENT. AGAIN, THIS IS UNDER THE DAYLIGHT.

SUNROOF EXPLODED AND GLASS HIT THE DRIVERS BEHIND ME AS WELL AS MYSELF. WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF 1,319.00 AND WAS TOLD THAT NO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WOULD BE PROVIDED BY VOLKSWAGON AND THAT IT WOULD HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET.

THERE SOLUTION IS ALIGNING VEHICLE OUT OF SPECS TO COMPENSATE FOR RIGHT PULL. WHEN VEHICLE NEEDS FUTURE ALIGNMENT, MY CONCERN IS VEHICLE WILL START TO PULL AGAIN. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SHOULD INSPECT FRONT WHEEL DRIVE COMPONENTS. VEHICLE STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY AND I AM PAYING FOR PORTIONS OF UNSUCCESSFUL "REPAIRS," AND ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR. The seat belt anchor will not grip, click and lock right away. It takes several times before it locks. Afraid it will become dislodge while traveling. Auto dealer will have to remove and replace entire seat belt mechanism and was advised not to drive the vehicle due to safety concerns.

The contact owns a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that upon picking up his vehicle from the dealer, the air bag warning light illuminated. The mechanic informed him that the failure was related to the driver’s side seat belt and was not covered under recall. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.

The contact owns a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, he heard an abnormal rattling noise and experienced difficulty steering the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. As the contact attempted to pull over to inspect the vehicle, he noticed that the rattling noise was coming from the front driver’s side spring. Despite the failure, the contact was able to drive the vehicle home without further incidence. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.

We own a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta. While driving at 55 MPH, he heard a loud Bang noise and experienced difficulty steering the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. We pull over to inspect the vehicle, We did not see any problems with the tires and they looked ok. But there was smoke coming up from the front passenger side. We were able to drive the vehicle another mile before more smoke was coming from under the passenger side. When we pulled over again we realized the right front tire on the passenger side was shredded. We called AAA. replaced the tire with the spare and went home. We called the VW dealer and took the car in. They said it was a front suspension coil spring that broke and punctured the right front tire.

Many fault lamps lite up on panel. List: Brake light, Adaptive cruise control, ASC, Power steering lamp, Seat belt lamp and sometimes the seat belt alarm goes off when seat belt is clicked IN!,ABS,Air bag lamp is intermittent,EPC lamp is intermittent. Problems have been confirmed by: Independent auto repair center and Vista VW of Pompano Beach, FL. As far as safety sometimes the engine goes into limp mode during driving a few minutes after starting. Having to pull over quickly to get out of the flow of traffic. To stop the engine after a few minutes it does restart.

FRONT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY: 1) the HID HALOGEN lights- (a.) the main DS3 buld continues to burn out not lasting longer than a month. (b.) the ballast also than shorts out (c.) the HIGH BEAM does the reverse effect making everything black (d.) the LOW BEAM do not work right as i cannot see obstacles in the road clearly- WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT; I ONLY HAVE MY FRONT DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT AND FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY TO DEPEND ON PRIMARILY. THE PASSENGER LIGHTS WHEN SOMEWHAT WORKING; ARE DIM AND WHEN THE HID BULB BURNS OUT- ALL I HAVE TO DEPEND ON (for that side of car) ARE MY DAY RUNNING AND FOR LIGHTS. 2.) FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SENORS ARE NOT WORKING MAKING IT TOO LATE IF OBSTACLES DETECTED 3.) THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT WARMER STOPPED WORKING

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THAT THE BOLTS THAT SECURE THE FUEL LINES DETACHED. THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL ODOR OF FUEL INSIDE THE CABIN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE TURNED ON THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM THE FUEL ODOR ENTERED THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE VENTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING FUEL FROM THE FUEL LINE OF ONE OF THE FUEL INJECTORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MOLLE VOLKSWAGEN (808 W 103RD ST, KANSAS CITY, MO 64114) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR COST. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V648000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

We own a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta. While driving at 55 MPH, he heard a loud Bang noise and experienced difficulty steering the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. We pull over to inspect the vehicle, We did not see any problems with the tires and they looked ok. But there was smoke coming up from the front passenger side. We were able to drive the vehicle another mile before more smoke was coming from under the passenger side. The vehicle was taken to Mavis Tire and Brakes, where it was determined that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced due to brake fluid leaking. The mechanic related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20E064000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). Additionally, the mechanic flushed the brake fluid and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the independent mechanic. I purchased my car used. In the past 3 years I have had problems my headlights became increasingly dim I checked my fuses and it had blown so I replaced it. Upon doing so my windshield wipers that had just been working no longer moved. But my headlights worked. Then my passenger window would not work with the drivers door controls. I can put it up but not down. I have never had the front collision warning work. Nor the lane departure the tire info used to work. Now it doesn’t. I toook my car into be caked and I was told that everything except the windows and wipers was fine. The wipers had a blown motor. Replaced it and they are good the window motors are dying? And need to be replaced. Also when in cruise control it will accelerate for just a second before slowing to the speed set at. Love the Volkswagens family has had four others and never had smyproblems
