Sunroof glass just exploded

Excessive heat coming from all vents and under steering wheel after long time driving. I am very concerned that the vehicle may be caught on fire and then cause injuries or casualties.

I was at a complete stop. There were no obstacles around me or oncoming. When I pressed the accelerator nothing happened for a full 3 seconds, until my vehicle jolted forward at an excessive speed. Brakes were not working.

When coming to a stop at a red light or a stop sign vehicle keeps surging forward. Something in the vehicle is releasing the brakes. Seems to be happening on a regular basis, but is still randomly happening, Every day. If you’re close enough to the vehicle in front of you, you will hit the vehicle

Vehicle was driving on a slow traffic local street at roughly 10MPH. Spacing between car in front of me was around 30 ft. I was gliding towards front and ready to brake. Suddenly the vehicle start to accelerate hard by itself without driver’s operation. I tried to engage brake / gas pedal and was not helping. Front collision system did not activate like it suppose to. I ended up turn sharp right towards road curb and hit pole at average speed of 30mph or less. No air bag deployed. I then switch to Park. No warning lights pop up. All safety features on vehicles were turned on before the incident. Whats weird is the car is functioning normal now after incident. I contacted Toyota USA and waiting for feedback.

When crossing a one-way road with oncoming traffic from the left, a vehicle that has recently passed might be triggering the forward collision avoidance system which cuts off throttle control to the Sienna, even when the passed vehicle is well out of the way. It is unknown if the collision avoidance feature is being triggered as there are no warning lights or messages in the display. This results in the Sienna having no accelerator response and sitting “dead in traffic” sideways in front of oncoming cars. This this is the second time this issue has occurred and today I was nearly t-boned by on-coming vehicles as there was no throttle response to move the car forward. This issue has been reported in 4th generation Sienna (‘21-‘24) forums on Facebook. This issue puts at risk vehicle occupants as well as other vehicles on the road.

Rear foldable seats do not lock down into compartment. They bounce up when you stop just a little hard. Cable has already broken when this occurs. Anything laid on top of these seats when folded will be ejected inside of car. Hitting driver in the head. This is very dangerous. Already brought to dealer and complained and nothing was done. They said that's the way it is. Someone will die if this problem is not taken care of.

The 3rd row seats do not remain stowed when passing over a speed bump or dip in the road. Depending upon the speed of the vehicle, the seats might jump up several inches and almost return to the fully stowed position with a loud thud. The seats then bounce up a few inches from the fully stowed position and remain unsecured. It's possible that the seats might unexpectedly fully open at higher speeds.

Trunk will not open or close properly. Made a screeching sound when you open or close initially. Then eventually it stops opening or closing unless you assist.

Keeps bottoming out suspension is specification is stated at 5.6 inches and I measured 3.3/4 unloaded never get a response on my complaints from my last repair and resolution on what they admitted that suspension was too low and wouldn’t put it in writing only saying that vantage mobility saying that it’s height requirements are as stated by vantage but no mention of ground clearance that I wanted them to verify that it’s specifications are stated at 6.5 inches and i measured 3 3/4 empty then they tell me not to go by specs and I’m a retired from wright Patterson Air Force base in the engineering department with logistics command and I’m like really guys you have to to have a specifications for a engineered system and they can’t even call back after they admit you have to go by specs! And then the authorized repair specialist tells me i had a bad brace on the front tire that was welded wrong and didn’t even mention it on the invoice or reported it to vantage mobility to call me about anything I had concerns about ?

Hello, leader. I bought my car (Sena Platinum Edition) for three months. Due to a mistake in the appearance, I need to replace the engine now. My new car will definitely depreciate if the engine is replaced, so I hope Toyota headquarters can refund me in full. I need to buy a new Sena! My house is full of Toyota cars, no matter what the result of Toyota Company's handling? I will still choose to buy a Toyota! Thank you!

Driver side outside rear view mirror shakes and makes driver nauseous. Mirror was replaced in December and replacement mirror shakes as well. Right side (passenger) doesn't shake. Vehicle now has 6500 miles on it. Original equipment windshield has a wavy appearance for the right 1/3 of it (in front of the front passenger seat). Both issues have been brought up with Mitchell Toyota in San Angelo, TX. The dealer will not replace the driver side mirror again, saying "some movement is allowable", even though the passenger mirror doesn't do it at all. They also said that the windshield waviness is "normal". These issues are in addition to other issues I've had with this Sienna, from moldly HVAC smell that caused my eyes to sting and tear up last week.

Wobbling vibration on exterior mirror, driver side. It looks like incoming vehicles shake sideways. This happens on any bumpy road and it is easier to observe at highway speeds. Purchased on [XXX]. Vehicle is available for inspection. The distorted image resulting from mirror wobbling affects driver's awareness of surroundings, visibility gets worse at nights/rain due to blurred lights. This can lead to an accident. My regular dealerships in Milford, CT have confirmed the issue but have not been able to provide a fix. They say the vibration is normal. I do not believe so as the passenger side mirror never has issue like that. I have first noticed this issue a couple of weeks when driving on highway. Posting my case online has gotten at least 4 people reporting the same issue with the Sienna since 2021 in multiple trims. Persistent smell of gas in cabin, took into Toyota dealership to assess issue. Service department could not resolve/locate the issue.

There are no messages/warnings. The vehicle will surge at very low speeds such as when I am coming to a stop, trying to avoid a person in a parking lot etc. It was SO scary this evening as I accelerated into a very very busy intersection...I pressed on my brakes harder and it was instant - but about 1 second (which is a LOT in this scenario) later it then slowed instead of accelerated. I have owned the vehicle almost a year. I will be bringing in for inspection this week and let the dealer know. I have put on about 11K in miles and would say this has happened a dozen times thus far with this evening being the scariest one yet. I figured it was just something normal for a hybrid but as I researched online - many people have this issue. TOO SCARY for me and dont want to hurt anyone or myself.

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 MPH, the sunroof exploded into the cover. There were no injuries sustained. The contact stated that there were no previous issues with the sunroof. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the failure was due to an unknown foreign object. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 9,255. The VIN was not available.

My child [XXX] ) engaged the automatic locking retractor (ALR) and as it wound back in it wrapped around his neck. By the time we got to him it was tight enough that it was difficult to move or rotate or slide the seatbelt over his head, and we ultimately cut the seatbelt to free him. In addition to the actual safety incident, I was very surprised to learn that this was even possible. I had never heard of this safety issue, and had absolutely no game plan or awareness about this issue. I saw the SBIR program addressing innovation in ALR systems which is exciting! However I would also strongly encourage some sort of awareness campaign or warning messaging to raise awareness and ensure parents keep belt cutters in their cars. We had a complete tire blowout of the rear driver tire in the desert, the temperature was 108° ambient. Toyota did not mention to us nor did the dealership that the car does not have a spare tire. We were 50 miles from any service Including cell service, I had to walk a mile to find cell service meanwhile two of our kids experience heat exhaustion. It took four hours to get the Vehicle towed. In that time our children experience heat exhaustion and had to be taken to the hospital. This is a huge oversight part to not make the customer aware that the vehicle especially family vehicle does not have safety equipment like a spare tire. In the desert this is a life and death issue that was not addressed by the dealership nor Toyota. All that is given is an inflation kit. We were not told by the dealership that a card did not come with What turns out to be essential equipment in the middle of a desert.

You push the accelerator at varying pressure and no response for 2-3 seconds. This is a severe safety issue as it could cause an accident with oncoming traffic. No error lights illuminated on dash. The lift gate strut bent when I tried to close the rear door, then when I tried to open the door to see what the issue was, the strut exploded. The parts went flying and almost hit me in the face, I could feel the air on my cheek as it blew past me. The spring and metal parts inside the strut shot all the way across my cul de sac, and the noise it created sounded like a gunshot. My neighbors came out of their houses to see what happened because it was so loud. We have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow to get it looked at. If I was standing any closer the spring would have hit me in the face; my children luckily were in the car already, if it happened a minute earlier it could have hit them. I noticed after the fact that the gaps in the back door are uneven when it’s closed, and I wonder if the door is installed unevenly and that put pressure on one side more than the other causing the strut to break. I can’t take a picture of the broken strut because I am too afraid to open the rear door in case the other one explodes.

Incident Description (Firestone Destination LE3 – P235/65R17) I purchased four new Firestone Destination LE3 tires (size P235/65R17, DOT IW2 8ILE31) and within the first week three of them developed noticeable bulges in the sidewalls. I returned to the tire service center, and they replaced the three tires due to the bulging. The following week, new bulges appeared again in the sidewalls on multiple replacement tires, for a total of six affected tires. Sidewall bulging creates a risk of sudden tire failure and loss of vehicle control, and I do not feel the tires are safe to drive on. One service center stated this was “normal from driving on roads,” but I disagree due to the number of tires affected in such a short time. The condition has been repeated and confirmed by multiple service centers. The tires remain available for inspection upon request. There were no warning lamps or messages before the bulges appeared. The issue began immediately after installation of the first set, and the problem persisted with the replacement set. In my assessment, the repeated sidewall bulging indicates a potential structural or manufacturing defect.
