What does the CarFocal Carfocal Reliability Index 2022 tell shoppers?

View ranking tableHow is the Carfocal Reliability Index 2022 calculated?
Include only model-years with enough reliability data to compute a score. Use severity-weighted recalls, exposure-adjusted complaints, TSB volume, and supported major-issue assessments where available. Safety is a separate overall-score component. Calculate each model-year score with Carfocal's existing 1.0 to 10.0 reliability formula. Rank manufacturers by the average score across all eligible model-years in the dataset. This yearly report filters the aggregation to 2022 vehicles before manufacturer ranking. Validate the exact model year, VIN, service history, and inspection before buying.
