THE MANUAL GEAR SHIFTER CONTROLS IN LOW GEAR ON THE CENTER CONSOLE DO NOT SHIFT. THE MANUAL CONTROL WORKED DURING THE TEST DRIVE AT THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THE CAR HAD 17 MILES ON IT, MARCH 10, 2019. THE SHIFTER FAILURE WAS FIRST NOTICED WHEN THE CAR HAD ABOUT 500 MILES ON IT, COMING DOWN A MOUNTAIN ON A HIGHWAY WHEN WE TRIED TO USE THE ENGINE TO BRAKE INSTEAD OF USING THE FOOT BRAKE ON MARCH 30, 2019. IN BETWEEN THOSE TWO DATES ON MARCH 21, 2019, THE CAR HAD A WATER LEAK AFTER IT RAINED THAT DRIPPED INTO THE CABIN OF THE CAR AND DIRECTLY ONTO THE SHIFTER AND OTHER ELECTRONIC CONTROLS. I BELIEVE THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILURE IS A DIRECT RESULT OF WATER DRIPPING ONTO THE SHIFTER AND OTHER ELECTRONICS ON THE CENTER CONSOLE. I HAVE 3 DOCUMENTED SERVICE RECORDS ATTEMPTING TO REPAIR THE WATER LEAK AFTER 3 SEPARATE RAINSTORMS THAT WAS ULTIMATELY DETERMINED BY GM ENGINEERING TO BE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. WHEN THE GLASS IS POSITIONED FOR THE REAR MOONROOF, THE POSITIONER IS SUPPOSED TO HOLD THE GLASS IN PLACE FOR A MOMENT TO SEAL. INSTEAD THE POSITIONER MOVES CREATING AN AIR POCKET. THIS RESULTS IN WATER INTRUSION INTO THE CEILING OF THE VEHICLE AFTER RAIN, WHICH THEN SEEPS INTO THE FABRIC LINER AND DRIPS DIRECTLY ONTO THE CONTROLS. I AM WORRIED ABOUT WHERE ELSE WATER HAS TRAVELLED WITHIN THE CAR, KNOWING IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN JULY 2018 AND STORED OUTSIDE MOST OF ITS LIFE. THE SHIFTER IS THE FIRST OF WHAT I FORESEE AS MANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT CAN ENSUE WITH WATER INTRUSION, AS IT HAS OCCURRED IN A CAR HAVING UNDER 900 MILES ON IT. WITH ALL ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION CONTROLS, I AM WORRIED THAT IF WATER DAMAGED THE LOW GEAR SHIFTING, THERE COULD BE FUTURE AND MORE DETRIMENTAL TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONS (POSSIBLY CATASTROPHIC). BEYOND ELECTRICAL FAILURES, MOLD IS A WORRY IN THE HEADLINER AND CARPETS CREATING A HEALTH HAZARD IN MY VEHICLE WHERE I TRANSPORT MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN.

AT 500 MILES PAST THE WARRANTY EXPIRATION THE RADIATOR DEVELOPED A CRACK ALONG THE TOP SEAM. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT AS THE VEHICLE WAS LESS THAN TWO YEARS OLD. GMC DECLINED TO REPLACE THE PART BECAUSE IT WAS 500 MILES PAST THE WARRANTY ALTHOUGH THEY DID NOT DENY IT WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I HAVE A GMC CASE NUMBER DOCUMENTING MY DEALINGS WITH THEM. I HAVE PHOTOS FROM THE DEALERSHIP SHOWING THE CRACKED RADIATOR, AS WELL AS AN EMAIL STATING IT WAS A DEFECTIVE PART. I HAVE THE RECEIPT AND I HAVE THE ACTUAL RADIATOR ITSELF. I NOTICED THE RADIATOR LEAKING ON MY GARAGE FLOOR WHEN IT WAS STATIONARY. THIS WAS 10 DAYS AFTER IT WAS LAST SERVICED AND THERE WAS NO ISSUE AT THAT TIME. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS NOT CAUSED BY IMPACT, BUT JUST THAT THE SEAM SPLIT AT THE TOP OF THE RADIATOR.*DT*JB

After vehicle is shifted into Park, "Shift into Park" message comes up. It requires you to restart vehicle, put in R, back into Park, sometimes jiggle the button, sometimes the entire shifter, sometimes drive around the block and start the process again. The message does not go away even if you exit the vehicle. 2017 Acadia had a recall for same issue, 2 years later still occurring but no recall. The repair is $600! GM offering nothing. Needs to be a recall, if you have an appointment it is sometimes 10-15 minutes of messing with the shifter ro driving around until you can shut your car off. I have been carrying tools and just disconnecting the battery if it won't shut off. Can't be 10-15 minutes late for work every day waiting for my car to agree it is actually in Park!

When parking the suv and placing the gear shift in park, the notification system states âshift to parkâ. This has been happening daily for the last 3 weeks. Sometimes I can get the notification to go away when I push the button on the gear shift. Other times, I have to cut the car off and then back on for it to clear the notification.

The vehicle is a 2019 GMC Acadia with 45,255 highway miles on it. On 1/5/23, I took the vehicle to the GMC Dealer for a routine Pennsylvania State Inspection. I was told that the vehicle's rear toe links were loose and that I would not pass the state inspection unless they were replaced. Upon some research, I found out that it is unlikely that toe links would be loose on a 4 year old car with 45k miles on it. Furthermore, to my knowledge, what causes threads within the toe link to loosen is improper adjustment. The first and last toe link adjustment was made as it was manufactured by General Motors. Looking into the issue, I noticed there was a number of other people online complaining about the same issue. Having no choice but to repair the vehicle in order to have a legal vehicle to drive, I was charged over $800 which included a wheel alignment which I was told was necessary after replacing the rear toe links. In addition, I noted that there was a recall for GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured from December 2021 to March 2022 regarding the same exact issue, and as you know, loose toe links can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of crashing and thus putting my daughter's safety and other people's safety at risk. There were no warnings or signs of the toe link ever being loose prior to this inspection.
1/5/2023
Im getting new tires on my car and was told the alignment cannot be done due to the rear tow links needing replaced. I was told it's a known issue with Acadias and should be covered under a recall I called my dealership and it's not a recall.

THE SHIFTER REFUSES TO MOVE OUT OF THE PARK FUNCTION. PRIOR TO THE SHIFTER GOING OUT THE CAR WOULD SAY SHIFT TO PARK EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WAS ALREADY PLACED IN PARK. I purchased my vehicle brand new off the truck in march of 2020 with zero miles on it. Feb 2021 in negative degree weather, the heat on my vehicle stopped working. I called my local GM dealership and they told me they needed to diagnosed the vehicle. They had kept my vehicle for two weeks trying to diagnose the vehicle. It turned out to be the thermostat. they replaced that part on my vehicle. Now Dec 2021 I again have experienced the same problem this time it was in a blizzard. Dealership told me it cant be the same problem, however it will be another two weeks before they can get my vehicle in for service and do not have a loaner vehicles for use. I purchased a new vehicle with warranty as I have two small children and am currently pregnant.

9 DAYS AFTER TAKING POSSESSION OF MY 2019 ACADIA, WITH LESS THAN 900 MILES ON IT, IT STOPPED WORKING. THE FIRST TIME I HAD A PROBLEM I HAD GOTTEN OUT OF THE TRUCK TO RUN INTO A STORE. WHEN I TRIED TO START IT I WAS GETTING A MESSAGE TO SHIFT TO PARK. THE ELECTRIC WAS ON, BUT THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START. I CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK. THE TOW DRIVER GOT THE TRUCK STARTED AND ADVISED ME TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER LESS THAN 1 MILE AWAY. WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR ROAD I LOST MY POWER STEERING AND STABILTRAK, MAKING IT FEEL LIKE I LOST MY BRAKES. MY EXPERIENCE AT THE DEALER WAS HORRIBLE. THEY CHANGED MY BATTERY AND SAID THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. I DID NOT EVEN MAKE IT 24 HOURS BEFORE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE ELECTRIC WAS ON BUT THE TRUCK WAS NOT RUNNING. I WAS GETTING A MESSAGE TO SHIFT TO PARK. THE TRUCK WAS OFF AND PARKED BUT THE DASHBOARD WAS SHOWING D THEN P AGAIN. I CALLED FOR ANOTHER TOW, AND THIS TIME IT WAS ACTUALLY TOWED. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD IT HAD TO DO WITH THE COMPUTER. SERVICE FIXED IT AND HELD ONTO THE TRUCK FOR A FEW DAYS TO MAKE SURE IT CONTINUED WORKING WITHOUT PROBLEMS. 6 DAYS LATER THEY CALLED ME TO PICK IT UP AND IT DIDN'T EVEN MAKE 5 HOURS THIS TIME. THE TRUCK WAS STILL RUNNING THIS TIME, BUT THE ELECTRIC WAS GOING CRAZY. EVERY LIGHT WAS LIT ON THE DASHBOARD. AS I WAS DRIVING IT TO THE DEALER, THE SPEEDOMETER WAS GOING CRAZY. I WAS DRIVING STEADY AT AROUND 35 MPH AND THE SPEEDOMETER WAS SHOWING 1, 0, 5, 0, 30, 31, 6, 0, 5, 31, 32, 1, 0, 5, 0. (I HAVE A VIDEO OF THIS BUT CANNOT ATTACH IT).SO THAT WAS 55 DAYS AGO AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY TRUCK BACK BECAUSE GM IS SUPPOSEDLY BUYING IT BACK. I HAVE CONCERNS SEEING 4 OTHER PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM ALONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.

I owned a 2019 GMC Acadia Denali with surround vision system (rear camera). In December 2023, my rear camera went out and almost caused me to hit someone while backing up. I don't totally depend on the rear camera when backing, but this time when I turned around to look if anything was behind me I didn't see no one. I took my vehicle to the dealer to get it checked out and to repair it. They found that the vision process module was bad. The technician found that the vpm had internal malfunction and corrosion due to water intrusion damaging vpm completely. found code B101D for internal failure and not responding to any programming or commands. Replaced vision processing module at a cost of $1348.90. I wrote to GM explaining the problem and request reimbursement. As of today, no response from GM. I'm not sure what this is but I'm not reporting damage I'm reporting the factory model. This vehicle seating is not appropriate for the body size of the front of the vehicle. I've had two other acadias and I didn't have this type of issue. The side of the vehicle where the mirror is located is so large is can cover the view of two cars. And even adjusting the seat doesn't help. You literally have to lean up to loom out the front windshield to make sure you are in the correct place. It's a safety hazard and whoever manufactured this particular car did not do so well

After exiting the highway onto a side road, the vehicle began to shake violently (like we were on a very bumpy road). I pulled into a parking lot thinking we had a flat tire. Then the vehicle suddenly came to a stop and would not move forward and would not move backwards. There was no flat tire, but I noticed that the front left tire was turned inward in the direction that the steering wheel was turned, but the front right tire was also turned inward at a much greater angle. At first glance, I could see behind the tire that the tie rod had detached from the front right tire resulting in no steering capabilities for the vehicle. The tie rod has a large bolt that attaches it to the tire, and the bolt was missing. Had this happened on the highway just a few minutes earlier, the resulting accident could have been catastrophic. I paid to have the car towed to the dealership and when the tow truck driver arrived he took one look at the vehicle and said "this should have never happened". The dealership could not explain how the tie rod lost the bolt and there was no visible damage to the tie rod. My concern is that had this happened at 60mph, the car could have flipped or the car would have been abruptly turned into the median wall at 60mph. Tried to upload images, but could not upload.

On 9/24/23, I was driving both locally & the highway in S. I., NY. Suddenly the Adaptive Cruise Control feature shut off & on repeatedly & kept flashing (Adaptive Cruise Control unavailable) almost causing an accident, then I pulled over and shut off the system. The next day on (9/25/23) I brought the car to GMC & Buick Dealership at 1855 Hylan Blvd, S.I. N.Y. 10306. After a couple of hours, the manager Carlos Mercado tells me they need to do further testing tells me to come back on 10/04/23. I arrive at 9:00am for my appt. After three hours, I asked him whatâs going on? He tells me that there are two Modularâs in the vehicle & needs to be reprogramed & updated. He says the mechanic that was working on it canât do it & to come back. I knew at that point I was being scammed. On 10/11/23 at 10:15am he comes & tells me the vehicle is ready. I go to the register tells me at first was $671.00. I said for what? Itâs outrageous! He says oh itâs electrical. I asked him did you replace any parts? He says no. replace any wires? He says no. I said if this was a recall I wouldnât pay for it because its a safety issue. So he must have felt guilty and says I give you a discount & the price now is $555.56. So I says to him this is a lot of money for this. He tells me it was labor. I said to him I have been watching the whole time that the vehicle would sometimes be in the service area & the parking lot with the mechanic hardly working on it. I said to him do you think Iâm a fool because Iâm a woman unaccompanied by a man you take advantage of me. So they would not release the car unless I pay for it which I did with a credit card. On 10/12/23, I filed a complained with GM for a full refund, and explained that the program was faulty & only need an update and I was contacted by Charlie from the Executive team on 10/17/23. Tells me he will reach out to the dealer. On 10/23/23 he tells me they can only offer $250 in reward points which I declined, because they know I wont use it.
