2023 Acura Integra Owner Complaints

I was driving on December 19, 2022 and noticed difficulty steering at cruising speeds (45mph). The steering became resistant to small movements. It did not move smoothly when I turned it to make minor adjustments, it required extra force to move from a still position. Once I applied enough force to turn, it turned freely. At low speeds such as turning in a parking lot, I did not notice any problems, but upon reaching approx 40mph, I did notice the problem. This makes the vehicle more difficult to operate in an unexpected manner and makes a collision more likely, thus putting the safety of myself, my passengers, and other drivers at risk. There were no warning lamps or messages. The only related symptom was that the CarPlay navigation display was not updating regularly during this drive. Normally this system works well, but on this day it was updating my position every 30 seconds or so. When I unplugged the USB cable between my iPhone and the vehicle, the steering issue disappeared. While driving at highway speeds (45-75 mph) the steering will begin to stick. The steering wheel requires extra force to make an adjustment. After getting past the friction point, the steering is normal but will soon gain the friction point back. On highway ramps, the steering will hold the turn without any additional pressure and fails to return to the straight position. Added force required to get it back to straight.

Even with the steering safety assistance turned off... the steering "sticks" while trying initiate turns/adjustments. Turning straight after a curve becomes jerky and unsafe. Keeping straight in a lane without jerking an overcorrection can cause concern. This is also adding to hand/wrist fatigue over long distance commute. Bottom line it feels unsafe.

The steering has become "sticky" when turning between the 10 and 12 positions (clock face), at all speeds, slow or highway. It happens mostly when I make a long left turn and return the wheel to its straight "12" position. I get a sticking/stuck/notch feeling through the wheel, which feels like the rack is sticking. At highway speed, this is extremely unnerving.

Vehicle only has 6,000 miles and I have an “Emissions system problem” along with “rev match disabled” message on my dash. Engine is now performing at a lower power level. Nothing out of the ordinary occurred before this. No error codes prior.

There is a separation from the windshield and the A frame on the drivers side. The car has been in multiple times and the service department cannot fix the problem because they claim it is a manufacturers defect. American Honda is saying that because it is "a manufacturing defect", they are not obligated to fix it and there is no fix available and I have no recourse.

For the 6th time, my 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec with the 6spd manual transmission has completely shut off. While the immediate thought might be that I stalled or the auto stop/start engaged, that's not the case here. The car completely shuts off. Almost like a hard reset, the engine dies, and the electrical system shuts down. In several of the cases, some features like lights, still work. But in others, everything dies. Locks, radio, wipers, lights. It takes awhile to restart the car. This happens when I come to a complete stop and then when I put my foot on the clutch and on the gas. This has happened in warm and cold Temps (ranging from 25°F to 75°F ). In 3 of the cases, the auto stop/start (acura calls it idle stop or something) was disengaged/turned off because I was in sport mode. Plenty of gas in the tank. The car is brand new, not even 4 months old with 14000 miles. Each incident has nearly resulted in an accident.

I have the Integra Aspec CVT model. It's been 8 months since I bought it, it's close to 10k miles and it was a week ago that it suddenly started to turn off completely as if it were like hard reset. It has already happened to me 7 times. Sometimes he doesn't want to turn back on quick so I have to wait couples minutes before trying to turn it on again and on the screen I get the alert to turn it on with the remote key but my car doesn't have that option. I don't get any error alert in the tachometer, only that suddenly everything is turned off, both the engine and the electrical components.

At speeds around 40-50, the steering begins to 'stick' and makes it harder to drive smoothly and autocorrects. At lower speeds it isn't noticeable. It also just started happening why I hit 2,700 miles on the odometer.

Rear middle seat belt gets stuck wont release. Dealer reported other vehicles doing the same.

UNKNOWN Accident involving direct hit to driver side door with no air bag deployment. Body shop estimator stated no codes were recorded, which is not normal. Also stated that seat belts did not lock, also not normal.

Brake pedal has to travel almost to the floor to gain braking traction. Feels like the brakes have 50K miles on them. Car has 7,500 miles currently. Matches the current recall. Dealer would not look at or fix due to my VIN number didn't match up in the recall.

The brakes squeak and squeal loudly when the car is cold and reversing. I took it to the acura dealership that I bought it from to get it looked at. They were able to reproduce the sound and said the sound was coming from the vsa (vehicle stability assist) . They compared it to a "known good vehicle" and said it made the same noise. Essentially the dealer said all cars of similar make and model have this issue and make this noise so no repairs were done or necessary. See attached document

A drunk driver ran into the back of my car as soon as the light turned green. I just release my break and h9t hit going about 70mph. The airbags never went off at such a great impact. The car was totaled.

The calibration for the blind spot is off, it detects there’s a vehicle in the blind spot and beeps when I try to change lanes although the vehicle is clearly behind my vehicle and is safe to change lanes. Another issue is that on the dash when I change songs sometimes on Apple CarPlay it freezes, it plays a song but the title of the song is the previous song that was playing.

Was driving at 75 to 80 mph speeds on interstate, and had approximately 4 to 5 seconds (400 feet+ at 75 mph) of clearance ahead of me before the next car. I had cruise control enabled and the adaptive cruise control was on the closest setting. Weather was clear and sunny and there were no visibility issues. The nearest vehicle in front was far beyond the ACC clearance zone. Suddenly the collision mitigation braking enabled and the car braked, beeped, and the warning light flashed. The car slowed suddenly from 75-80 down into the low 60mph range. I then had to tap the brake to disable or acknowledge the warning, resulting in another sudden brake. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the dealer but I have contacted them. Safety of myself was at risk of sudden high speed braking or flipover if I had been in a turn. I also could have been easily rear ended. This happened twice in an hour span on the same drive. I believe both times this happened, the nearest vehicles in front were full size motorcycles.

Steering is sticky. Difficult to maneuver away from straight, particularly at higher speeds (45+). Car does not center in lane when LKAS is engaged, and will often drive out of the lane by itself.

In December 2024, I brought my 2023 Acura Integra to the local Acura dealership to address a recall related to a steering gear manufacturing defect, as well as to perform an oil change. The service department at Acura efficiently completed the work on my vehicle in one hour. On December 24, 2024, while operating the vehicle, the dashboard lights illuminated, and the steering wheel abruptly veered to the left, leading to a collision with large stationary rocks (boulders) alongside the road. The vehicle was required to be towed to a collision repair facility. The insurance claim has been submitted, and a police report has been filed. The collision shop performed a thorough inspection of the damage, and their analysis indicated that the cause of the accident is related to the steering system. The Acura Dealership has been informed of this information, and a claim has been submitted to Honda/Acura Manufacturer. No one from Acura has yet to send some one to inspect or investigate this matter.
