Driving on highway and engine cut off with no warning. No dash lights to show a warning. 3321 miles on engine. The vehicle was unable to be put in neutral for the police to push it out of the highway. Three Moncks Corner police cars surrounded the vehicle to maintain safety. The vehicle was towed to the dealership. Needed a new engine and cooling system. The engine and cooling system were both replaced.

On November 13, 2024 I was operating my vehicle at approximately 55 miles per hour when it suddenly experienced complete engine failure. The incident occured at 10 o'clock at night, and the loss of power resulted in the immediate shutdown of all vehicle systems, including headlights. Due to the unexpected nature of the failure, I was unable to bring the vehicle to an immediate stop. Fortunately, my three children and I escaped the incident without injury. The vehicle eventually came to a stop, and I was able to assess the situation and contact OnStar. The vehicle was towed to dealership.

aside from constant electrical issues with the serial gateway module that gm refuses to replace many safety features fail regularly most importantly this replacement yukon for the 2023 with engine issues also has engine issues and the same 6.2L engine. When leaving my home and or driving on any decent up or downhill road and coasting the vehicle will misfire and trigger the MIL to flash. Iâve taken it into the dealer many times for this and in the end they say itâs a software problem with AFM disabling 5 cylinders. They claim that the geometry of the vehicle along with having 5 cylinders disabled causes the engine to vibrate enough to make it think itâs misfiring. this came from their factory field service tech. they refuse to fix it. they refuse to put this on paper. they told me if I wanted it fixed, I could buy a 2025 instead. this is insanity.

The motor is randomly revving at braking so far only under 10 miles an hour. Yesterday it stalled twice on me and cut off braking under 10 miles an hour. I had to come to a complete stop while restarting the vehicle. Definitely has me worried if it happens on the highway or higher speeds.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle failed to respond, with the vehicle sputtering. The contact stated that unknown warning lights were illuminated, and an unknown message was displayed. The contact pulled over to the side of the road as the transmission shifted into neutral. The vehicle was shifted into park and turned off. The contact then attempted to start the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to restart. The contact then towed the vehicle to the dealer, and a diagnostic test was pending. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

1 Adaptive cruise stopped me several times for no reason as there was nothing on the interstate and the weather was clear. This was very jarring at 80 miles per hour on the interstate created a hazardous and dangerous driving condition as cars were all around, almost was rear-ended. 1a Adaptive cruise started all the sudden when I was stopped at an intersection almost caused a wreck, as soon as I took my foot off the break it speed up, but I was able to veer off and break several more times. The adaptive cruise should automatically go off when the brakes are applied. 1b Cruise control will not activate sometimes (it is intermittent). 2 Sensors do not work properly and do not go off to warn if I have driven to close to something, this has happened several times after I became aware of it and after front bumper was damaged. 2 Garage door opener works sometimes, this means I have to get out unlock the house go shut the garage door and relock the house... very unsettling. 3 Android Auto goes out continuously and will not reconnect even though the maps are still on my phone and everything is setup correctly. This also creates a hazardous condition when driving on the highway in unfamiliar areas causing me to miss turns and unable to navigate through traffic. 4 Seat, adjustable setting does not work when entering the vehicle, only upon exit. 5 Mirrors do not automatically fold when parking the vehicle as they did when I purchased the GMC. 6 Rearview camera doesn't turn off automatically after reverse parking has to be done manually while driving. There are so many issues with this vehicle. I have serious concerns with the safety of this Yukon. I have filed a lemon law with GM on the Yukon. The GM representative Lied in the abrtration stating there was a recall that would fix these issues....The dealer was notified within a week of the purchase but had me wait until GM had a software fix.... They stated the software update should take care of all the issue

I had just backed the truck out of a parking space (while turning) and shifted the transmission into 'Drive' with my foot pressing the brake pedal (not the gas pedal). When I took my foot off the brake pedal in order to transfer it to the gas pedal the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward without my foot ever pressing the gas pedal. The vehicle traveled forward about 20 feet before I was able to stop it by pressing the brake pedal. I am a retired General Motors Safety engineer and I know I was not pressing the gas (accelerator) pedal when this sudden acceleration event occurred. I believe this type of event occurred one other time while I was driving this vehicle. However, I am not as clear about the circumstances surrounding this previous event.

SERVICE BRAKES

On February 14, 2025, my brakes went completely out in the school carline while picking up my youngest daughter. After the incident happened, I saw a light that read "Service ESC." This private elementary school is next-door to a private high school. There were students, teachers, and parents walking in this area at this time. I had to maneuver through this carline and away from faculty, students, and parents with no breaks. No individual was injured or killed but it could have been a very serious accident. I called GMC asking for help but was told through a chat line to bring the vehicle in for service. I was finally able to get my Yukon to the service department where after a few days it was determined my brakes failed and they were replaced. One day after I received the vehicle back from service, there was a horrible noise while driving but no lights showed on the dashboard, so it was returned to the same service department. They found metal shavings in my oil and I was told the lifters had collapsed and the engine failed. At this time, I have not heard from GMC and my vehicle is still in the service department.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while a friend was driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly experienced a loss of automotive power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who diagnosed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. No further information was available. Additionally, the vehicle had previously experienced a loss of braking while driving with the cruise control activated. The contact stated that while driving at a slower speed, the vehicle lurched forward, striking a gate, and causing damage to the front bumper of the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed of the NHTSA Action Number: PE25001 (ENGINE, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 16,000.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The engine of my 2024 GMC Yukon Denali failed unexpectedly at 45 MPH, shutting off without warning and shifting into neutral. My wife, three passengers, and two dogs were in the vehicle, which coasted to a stop. After several attempts, it restarted, and the check engine light illuminated. Alpine Buick GMC confirmed catastrophic engine failure, requiring replacement of the engine, radiator, hoses, and other parts. The vehicle remains at the dealership, and the failed components are available for inspection. This sudden shutdown posed serious safety concerns. My wife lost control over acceleration and power steering, increasing the risk of an accident. Had this occurred on a highway or in traffic, the consequences could have been severe. This raises concerns about the engineâs reliability and potential risks to other drivers. Alpine Buick GMC confirmed the engine failure and the need for full replacement. I am the sixth customer awaiting this repair, indicating a broader issue. The estimated wait time for an engine is two weeks to three months, creating a significant disruption. Inspection by Manufacturer, Police, or Insurance The vehicle has been inspected by dealership technicians but not by GMC representatives, police, or insurance adjusters. I am open to further inspections to determine the cause and assess whether a recall or corrective action is necessary. No warning lights or symptoms appeared before the engine shut down. The check engine light illuminated only after restarting on the third attempt. The absence of prior alerts suggests a flaw in the vehicleâs diagnostic system. Expedited Engine Replacement â Given the safety risks, I request priority replacement. Investigation into Failure Cause â GMC should assess whether this is a manufacturing defect. Review of Similar Cases â If widespread, a recall or service bulletin may be necessary. Better Communication â Regular updates on repairs and GMCâs actions are needed. I expect prompt action to resolve

On 15 Aug 2025, I was driving this vehicle on Rte 151 in raccoon township with my 2 children when the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly experienced a âloss of propulsionâ with a corresponding uncommanded shift to âneutralâ. Attempts to shift the car back into drive were met with a âparameters not safeâ caution. I was fortunate enough that the vehicle behind me was able to slow and an accident was avoided. The thought that this could have happened with my family on the highway, during adverse conditions, or any other scenario is frightening to say the least. Other owners of affected models werenât as fortunate.

The vehicle one week after purchasing has had a tapping noise coming from engine and a rattling noise as well that you hear from the inside of vehicle. I have taken vehicle to two separate GM dealers. The first being where vehicle was purchased and they did not log in visit and basically said nothing could be done until engine breaks. The second dealer was only able to duplicate the rattling noise but had no loaner for me and advise would contact GM for next steps since a complaint has been filed. As of today nothing has been done. The second dealership also confirmed orange peel on paint and nothing either.

There currently is a serious recall on this vehicle and there is no remedy available. Iâve called the dealership and they confirmed this information. The service department claimed the sales department may be able to help me and then sales said it was a service dept issue. I have children who have been placed at risk as they have been traveling in this vehicle since April 2024.

On multiple occasions, more recently 03/28/2025, the windshield wipers would stop working. On 3/28/25 in pouring rain at night the front windshield wipers were working and then stopped. The rear window continued to work. I finally found somewhere to safely pull over and check fuses for front and back wipers. They were both good and I even swapped the fuses for front and back and the back wipers continued to work while the front would not. This continued on our our trip in rain and even the next morning the front wipers would not come on. An hour later driving (with the wiper switch in the OFF position) the front wipers came on. I switched the switch to on and they were functioning. This has happed several time in the 6 months of new ownership with the dealership denying they have ever heard of such a problem. As we arrived to our destination and telling the story to the other families we were meeting another family there said they just had the same exact problem on their 2024 Yukon denali on the trip too. This put 2 families in a very dangerous situation. As I google this problem there are multiple reviews of individuals with this same problem.

I am the owner of a 2024 GMC Yukon (VIN: [XXX] ), purchased from Hatchett Buick GMC on [XXX]. This vehicle was purchased at a high price with the expectation that it would provide reliability and keep my family safe. Unfortunately, that is clearly not happening. The Yukon continues to suffer from severe power loss that neither the dealership nor GM technicians have been able to diagnose or repair. In addition, this vehicle is subject to an unresolved engine recall, further undermining safety and confidence in the vehicle. Multiple times while driving I have had total power loss with no warning or indicators of this happening through lights or warnings on the vehicle. This is separate from the engine recall issues I am currently experiencing as well. While driving the Yukon will lose all electrical power. The vehicle is still currently at the dealership trying to be diagnosed. It has been 2 weeks. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
