THERE IS AN EXHAUST ODOR IN THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY AFTER A HARD ACCELERATION AS IN PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE. I TOOK VEHICLE TO MY FORD DEALER WHO SAID THERE WERE KNOWN PROBLEMS REPORTED ON MY MODEL VEHICLE. I SINCE FOUND A FORD TSB 18-2057 THAT COVERS THE ISSUE, BUT FOR YEARS 2015-2018. RECENTLY, MY 2020 FORD EDGE, WITH 1,800 MILES, DISPLAYED A WARNING THAT THE PRE-COLLISION ASSIST WAS NOT AVAILABLE. AFTER COMPLETING THE POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS INDICATED BY THE OWNER'S MANUAL WITHOUT SUCCESS, I TOOK THE EDGE INTO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE TECH'S ATTEMPT TO REPROGRAM THE UNIT REVEALED THE FRONT CENTER CAMERA WAS OFFLINE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE BRACKET THAT HELD THE CAMERA AND RADAR COMPONENTS OF THE 2020 EDGE WERE DAMAGED REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. THE FORD TEAM THEORIZED A STONE HIT A 2 MM PLASTIC GRILL TRIM BREAKING IT, THEN THE SAME STONE RICOCHETED AND DAMAGED THE PLASTIC BRACKET HOLDING THE CAMERA AND RADAR COMPONENTS OF THE PRE-COLLISION ASSIST RENDERING IT USELESS. NO SIGN OF ANY IMPACT. TO REPLACE THE BRACKET HOLDING THE PRE-COLLISION HARDWARE COSTS $80. HOWEVER, LABOR WAS $600. NO CHOICE BUT TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY DETERMINED, USING AN UNKNOWN METRIC, THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT COVERED BY THE THREE-YEAR BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY. THE FINAL COST TO ME OF THE REPAIRS: $671. DURING THE REPAIR, I LEARNED THAT THE EDGE MODEL YEARS PRIOR TO 2020 HAD A METAL BRACKET TO PROTECT THE PRE-COLLISION CAMERA AND RADAR COMPONENTS. HOWEVER, FOR THE 2020 EDGE MODEL YEAR AND BEYOND, FORD REPLACED THE METAL BRACKET WITH A PLASTIC BRACKET. IN SHORT, THE BRACKET WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DAMAGED IF HIT BY A STONE IF THE METAL BRACKET HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED BY FORD WITH A PLASTIC BRACKET. I BELIEVE THAT THIS PLASTIC BRACKET IS NOT ONLY A THREAT TO ME AND MY PASSENGERS SAFETY, THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE PRE-COLLISION ASSIST, BUT ALSO AN OUTRAGEOUS EXPENSE FOR FORD CUSTOMERS WHO MAY NOT AFFORD TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THUS, EXPOSING CUSTOMERS TO UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE METAL BRACKET SHOULD REPLACE THE PLASTIC BRACKET. INCLUDED IS A PICTURE OF THE FRONT GRILL AREA CRACKED BY A STONE.

BUCKLED THE CENTER REAR BELT INTO THE RECEIVER BUCKLE OF THE RIGHT SIDE IT WOULD NOT UNBUCKLE . THE MALE BUCKLES ARE THE SAME ON THE LEFT AND CENTER THE ONE ON THE RIGHT IS DIFFERENT. THE RIGHT MALE BUCKLE WILL NOT FIT THE CENTER FEMALE RECEIVER BUT THE CENTER MALE BUCKLE WILL GO IN THE RIGHT FEMALE RECEIVER, BUT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RELEASE IT. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE PERSON (SCARED, SCREAMING,CHILD) OUT WAS TO CUT THE BELT. THIS WOULD BE VERY UNSAFE IN THE CASE OF A CRASH.
11/22/2021
3 children were in the back of the car. Child sat in the middle put seatbelt in the incorrect lock mechanisms. The seatbelt would not disconnect and it jammed. The seatbelt locked so my daughter could not loosen the seatbelt to climb out and started to panic so we had to cut it to get her out. This was a major safety concern. If this had happened in an accident my daughter would have been stuck. Why do the rear seat belts allow a person to clip in, if it wonât allow you to clip out. This is a huge concern

Have had issues from day one. Lane centering hugs middle line, back up camera is black at times, when in drive screen is blank, all tools on steering have went out including turn signals, cruse control, collision avoidance flashes when no one is in front of me, brakes due to collision avoidance malfunction etc. in November 2021 car was in park ( know that for sure it was in park and not moving as fed ex came for delivery and walked around back of car to get package before accident) and rolled to front pinning me and breaking pelvis and back. During this incident the safety failed in park, anti collie on failed, 9 days in hospital and months of rehab. Again coming back from doctor lost steering controls. 7 weeks in shop and many calls to dealer and ford motor they replaced main wiring harness stating to me in an email and in person this was the cause of all issues including the roll over. Just got car back on 6/17/22. Shall see if this fixes problem but I donât even want to drive this car anymore! Total miles to date 17,000

We were driving my 2020 Ford Edge when my vehicle and another vehicle collided. The entire front end of my Ford was smashed in due to the force of the impact. We had to be extracted by the fire department, because we could not open the doors. My pre collusion alert system did not sound off; nor did the airbags deploy despite the rate of speed from the other car as we both entered the intersection. As a result of the airbags failing to deploy, my wife suffered injuries resulting in a trip to the ER. She is still treating with medical providers. Prior to this incident we had no indication of any safety features failing. No warning lights, messages or other symptoms. The manufacturer has been made aware of the incident but has not yet inspected the vehicle at the time of this report. It is currently being held at an auto repair shop.

The airbags never deployed on this front impact accident.

THE BACK HATCH DOOR WAS OPEN TO PUT SHOPPING ITEMS AWAY, AND MY DAUGHTER TURNED AROUND TO PUT A CART AWAY IN A PARKING LOT. ALL OF A SUDDEN ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS COMING AND SHE BACKED UP WITH A CART IN FRONT OF HER, AND THE HATCH DOOR HIT HER BETWEEN THE SHOULDERS. IT HIT HER, IT STOPPED AND THEN MOVED UPWARDS. SOMETHING LIKE THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO ME WITH ANOTHER FORD THAT I TRADED IN LAST YEAR FOR THIS 2020 FORD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR A CAMERA REPAIR PRIOR TO THIS, SO DO NOT KNOW IF A SENSOR IS OUT OR NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY; AND THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE MAKES A CREAKING NOISE SINCE THEY REPLACED THE REAR VIEW CAMERA. DO NOT KNOW IF THIS HAS ANYTHING DO DO WITH THE HATCH BACK OPEN AND CLOSE FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK IN A SPOT IN A SHOPPING CENTER ON A TWO WAY PARKING LOT.

I HAVE BEEN HURT AND SUFFERED HEADACHES AFTER GETTING HIT WITH THE LIFTGATE. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND HAVE AN OPEN CASE WITH THEM ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. The rear view camera glitches and the display is either blacked out or scattered. The motion sensor does not always work when this happens. I was not aware of an on coming car while backing up causing a safety risk. The screen will start glitching and become distorted while I am already backing up, making it hard to know where the objects are. There are not any warning lights to indicate a problem. I brought the car to the service center at the dealership from where I purchased it, They said I would have to pay for a new camera. I did not do that because there is a recall in the 2021 model and other Ford vehicles for the same issue .

Rearview camera displays black distorted image. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Police and insurance have not been involved as there has been no accident with my vehicle. No warning signs or lamps illuminated to advise of this problem at any time. Forward collision warning stopped working which in turn caused the cruise control to not work. Then the PSCM (power steering control module) just went out all at once. Was driving and it showed warning on the dash. I drove on and parked. When I went to start back, it started fine but couldnât move steering wheel. Iâm seeing this has been a problem with other owners and the same year model. Ford has done a recall on edge for years around 2020 but not that particular year. Gonna cost $2772.59 to fix at dealership. Always owned ford but very disappointed how this happened with very little warning at all. If it had locked up while I was driving it would have been a major accident.
