The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated while driving approximately 75-80 mph, the lifter collapsed and the contact heard the engine rattling. The contact pulled over and contacted the manufacturer, who provided a tow to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with a bent push rod and that the lifter had collapsed. The contact related the failure to the Technical Service Bulletin number: PIP5776C. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 6,600.

Purchased the new 2021 Chevrolet Suburban, 4 miles on odometer and left the dealer. Less than 20 minutes from dealer AC stopped working. Called dealer thinking it was small error. While on phone I looked under the vehicle which was now emitting foul burning odors. Noticed a very large amount of oil(1quart+) dripping from everywhere from engine to exhaust mid way down vehicle, oil cooler line was blown off. Towed newvehicle to dealer. Chevrolet wants me to keep this vehicle even though there was a TSB issued last year about this same issue. Chevrolet was supposed to fix before shipping vehicle and demanded dealers to do the same but did not follow its own advice. Now they want me the consumer to take a vehicle that now has 17 miles on it that has been repaired even though the issue was supposed to be remedied by manufacturer. GM/Chevrolet considers this a new vehicle even after major service for a known issue and wants me to marry this vehicle for 6 years of payments. I put down $22500 cash and this is the slap I get as consumer!

Drove up to a stoplight 4th car in a turn lane, came to complete stop. Some cars closed ranks a little further so i released my foot off the brake and moved up a few more feet and stopped again. The car then accelerated with brake fully depressed and wouldn't stop. I then put gear to neutral Tac was very high maybe 5000. Put car into park and then turned off the engine. Restarted car and continued on my way. Contacted Chevrolet and my dealership for a service diagnosis coming up July19,2021. No image to anyone but I have heard of this problem before a malfunction of electronics controlling the drivetrain. Can something be done before any injury or death occurs.

The lifter rods failed on my vehicle that has approximately 8,000 miles on it. The dealer said that this is a known issue and that there is a service bulletin out for it.

My vehicle died unexpectedly in the middle of the road while backing out of my driveway with cars coming and going around me. It would not start up again nor could I put it in neutral to move it out of the way. Iâve learned my 2021 Suburban has a defective high pressure fuel modular. Also learned there is a parts shortage as well.

On 27 Feb 2023 the vehicle started as usual. After parking and letting the engine idle while I assisted my elderly mother into the car, the vehicle unexpectedly stopped running. Several attempts were made to restart the car, but it only sputtered for a few seconds as if it were out of fuel. I then called GM roadside assistance and the vehicle was towed to Sandy Sansing Southern Chevrolet in Foley Alabama. My service Advisor Ronny advised me that this was a common failure of the Fuel Pump Power Control Module, however, there is no current recall. Except I did find a recall for a similar issue for other GM vehicles (Product Safety Recall N212332040 Stall While Driving) The dealership currently has 25 other vehicles awaiting a new module which could take up to 2 months.

This evening while driving the windshield wipers started (while the wipers were in the off position). When using the turning signal it speeds up to approximately 3 times the normal speed. The display says the back hatch is open and the cargo light is on (the back hatch is closed). We turned off the car multiple times and the conditions persist.

We have had several incidents of issues with the engine and electrical system. There are as follows: - NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS and engine failed. - Engine continues to be sluggish and hesitant. Headlights do not come on when in "auto" and it is dark outside. - Doors lock with the keys inside and the engine is off. - Keys are showing in sleep mode or not present when they are present. The engine went down on May 6, 2021 and I was on the highway with 2 of my children. I could not accelerate. There was traffic and could not keep up. I was able to get the truck to the delearship to have inspected and repair attempted. NO check engine lights.

While driving, I received a notice identifying a problem with the ESC system and that there was a brake system failure. I have received an advanced diagnostics alert about the antilock braking system. the vehicle was difficult to stop and required excessive pressure on the brake pedal.
5/4/2022
I was driving on the freeway about 65 mph on Saturday June 18. In a sudden instant, there was a message on my dash "brake module failure" and "speed limited to 62 mph". Also warning message that "forward collision warning was off" , etc. The ABS light, the "check brakes light", and the check engine light all were on. Also, the power brakes went completely out and to stop I had to press really hard with manual brakes. I don't think a small framed person would have been able to stop and if I had been at a moment where I needed to stop quickly I don't think I would have been able to stop had there been a need to stop quickly. The dealer tells me that the brake master cylinder failed. The car has 43,000 miles and has been well maintained.

Car suddenly swerved, loud knocking started. Multiple system failures started flashing. Forward collision, ECS, traction control, the car was vibrating, jerky. I have multiple videos as well. The dealership literally told me theyâd seen a ton of these when I called immediately and then told me to keep driving because the damage was done and if the engine died well then itâs under warranty. I have 3 children under 5 and that is NOT an appropriate answer when I asked about it being safe to drive considering itâs jerky/shaking/knocking, and has multiple systems down. Iâve also googled and joined forums and this is apparently a common issue in the 2021 V8s and Chevy refuses to issue a recall. Would be more than happy to provide videos as well it wonât let me upload them with the photos. Was told it could be weeks before they even have parts

I'm writing to complain about the proposed temporary resolution of the recall. I received a letter today advising me that repair parts were unavailable and that I should simply not use the third row seats until the inspection/repairs are completed. Like many people who own Suburbans, I bought this vehicle because we are a family of six. This is the only vehicle in our home that can fit both adults and all four children. Not using the third row is simply not an option for us. This is an unacceptable solution, no matter how temporary.

I WAS INVOLVED IN A 40 MPH FRONTAL IMPACT COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE INITIAL IMPACT OCCURRED ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT CORNER OF THE VEHICLE. DURING THE INITIAL COLLISION ME HEAD SWUNG SIDEWAY STRIKING THE B POST WINDOW AREA AND KNOCKED ME UNCONSCIOUS FOR A SHORT TIME. I THEN T-BONED A TRUCK AND FINALLY CAME TO REST AGAINST ANOTHER VEHICLE. AT NO TIME DID MY AIRBAGS (FRONT OR SIDE) DEPLOY. NOR HAS MY VEHICLE EVEN REGISTERED THAT I WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. I REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION AND WAS TRANSPORT TO THE HOSPITAL. AFTER EXAMINATION AND SCANNING/XRAYS, ETC. I HAD RECEIVED A CONCUSSION. I HAVE THE POLICE REPORT AS WELL AS MORE PICTURES IF REQUIRED. THE IMPACT WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO BEND THE FRAME ON MY VEHICLE.

With cruise control activated, at least 10 times since I bought this expensive vehicle the automated emergency braking activated at highway speeds - causing the vehicle to full brake without warning and nearly causing an accident each time (handling risk and risk of being impacted from behind by a following vehicle). I have formally reported this issue to dealers in MN and MT, and they only thing they said was they could not duplicate the condition during brief test rides and this was not a know problem. I personally know this was a known problem and GM did a safety recall for this condition on MY15-20 Suburbans. This condition is definitely an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety. In additional, the original tires supplied by GM (Firestone) failed under normal driving conditions after only about 35,000 miles, and both GM and Firestone denied there was any warranty coverage. Since then, new Les Schwab tires failed at about the same mileage. Something is obviously not right with this vehicle, and this condition is also an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety. Finally, last week my front passenger wheel cracked. I have not hit anything significantly hard with that wheel - but it is nonetheless cracked. This is also obviously defective and an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety.
9/19/2022
Rims keep cracking on the inside where the tire is sealed. This has happen a total of three times to both front and rear passenger side. Tire pressures are 36psi as recommended by manufacturer. No major pot holes or other road hazards have been hit.

The fuel pump power control module caused the fuel pump to fail and resulted in unexpected engine stall. I was driving when I received messages saying service ESC, Forward collision System Unavailable, & Service Traction Control. The vehicle began to shake hard when I applied brakes, had loss of power when pressing the gas pedal, and sounded like metal grinding. All of this put my children & I at risk as we were on interstate 35 with cars flying past us and Iâm losing power. Initially the spark plugs and coil was were changed to no repair. It was towed to a dealership where they confirmed the lifter & cam failed which put metal in the oil. My only option is a full engine replacement costing 20k on a vehicle thatâs 4yrs old. Itâs not ok that I have to spend that in order to get my 70k car drivable. Im now without a car, still paying a car note, unable to get my kids places, and having to get help from friends all bc GM canât build a quality vehicle. I also havenât been able to get a loaner car. This isnât happening in only the 6.3L. This is a widely known issue with the 5.3L as well. *There were ZERO warning signs that something was wrong. Drive just fine that morning*

Yesterday marked the 2nd time that the front windshield wipers on my 2021 Chevy Suburban (58k miles) randomly stopped working while driving down the highway in a rainstorm. They would not come out of the resting position regardless on what setting they were put to on the wheel switch. They continued to not work for the hour drive back to my house. The last time this happened all fuses, motor, etc were checked and tested good. The wipers started working again a day or so later, using the windshield wiper fluid button to test. This marks the second time my family has been put in a situation driving on the highway in a rainstorm with the wipers randomly stopping to work and having to navigate to safety with extremely limited visibility. This appears to be a fairly common issue with newer GM vehicles with the auto sense technology, found plenty of forums with the same experience. The major concern I have is that when this happens the wipers donât work at all in any mode. Even trying to run in manual mode rather than auto sense the wipers will not move from the resting position. It leaves a driver with zero way to clear rain and see when this randomly occurs.
9/27/2024
For the past 2 years my windshield wipers will fail randomly while using them during a rain storm. I will have to pull over and completely turn the vehicle off turn back on and they may start working again or restart a couple more times. Iâve taken it to the dealership twice over it and the one time it was when they didnât work and no codes showed up. It just happened again while on the turnpike during a rain storm. Itâs very scary because some roads you canât pull over right away and Itâs very hard to see when the windshield is completely covered and the wipers wonât work. A major safety issue. I wanted to take a video but itâs not safe when Iâm driving and trying to see out the window. I have 2 little kids and currently pregnant so this is very scary with my kids in the car.

I was sold a vehicle from a dealership in Green Bay Wisconsin under the impression all safety regulations were met. The day I drove it off the lot, I had issues with the back drivers' door, making wind noise. I had messaged the salesman, he stated it may have been the door seal. Days went by, it wasn't sitting well with me, I made an appointment with a local body shop in. regard's to the door and suspicion of something not right. I brought it to the body shop, they informed me, that the back air bags were deployed and stuffed back into the roof, body work on the left side was done incorrectly and is very unsafe to drive, seat belts where my children sit were finger tightened, frame is held on by a bolt etc. The body shop states that if this vehicle were to be in an accident, it would not sustain impact the way vehicles are designed to do so. The owner of the dealership I had bought from refuses to come to an agreement about this situation. I have all the paperwork and documents from the body shop along with another local dealership near me who I also brought it to look it over as well so the owner could understand that this vehicle should have never been able to be sold on his lot. They also agree that this is super unsafe and should not be driven until it is fixed properly and all safety standards should be met. They believe that it should have been totaled out, it is very obvious that the left side was hit and smashed in. I also asked the owner if he would feel safe for his children to drive in this vehicle and he said, ânoâ I have many documents/pictures/reports to share once needed.

Brake function was disabled by the computer. I took the vehicle to dealer, they said it was a component that has high resistance that cause it. But not sure why it has high resistance at that time and the resistance is gone after driver restarted the vehicle. No one else inspected the component beside the dealership. There was no warning at all and this is the first time it happens. Driver was just driving normally and suddenly all the light in the instructment panel started blinking and driver tried to apply brake but nothing happen. Luckly it wasn't rush hour, and driver was able to let the vehicle roll to the freeway exit on ram and use the up ram to slow the vehicle until it almost stop and changed gear to Park to stop the vehicle. Driver then restarted the vehicle and the problem is gone.

LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
1 Report1% of totalPreviewing the first 1 complaint summaries.
The fuel pump power control module caused the fuel pump to fail and resulted in unexpected engine stall. The issue cause me and my 4 children to be stuck in the middle of the road waiting for a tow truck for over 3 hours. The vehicle could only be put in neutral while the car was on. Since I couldnât start my car I could not put it in neutral to move the vehicle out of 2 way traffic. We want the issue confirmed by the dealership but the police who aided me and my children inspected the vehicle and recommend getting the fuel pump look at. No warnings were displayed.

SUSPENSION
1 Report1% of totalPreviewing the first 1 complaint summaries.
I bought the vehicle on January 11, 2025. Within 2 weeks the service leveling system indicator light came on the dashboard. The vehicle's front left air suspension system was not working properly and the vehicle lowered to the crash shield. The vehicle would not go over 55 miles and hour and was bouncing all over the road. The vehicle went back to the dealership and they reset and calibrated it. A few weeks later, the same thing happened. The vehicle again went down in the front, and was unsafe to drive. The dealership had the vehicle for 3 weeks, had difficulty assessing the situation and changed the front left air suspension arm. They told us it was fixed. We picked it up and as we were driving it home the service leveling system indicator came on, we brought it right back. They had the vehicle another 2 weeks and changed the solonoids, reset and recalibrated and had us pick it up. Within a few weeks the same thing happened, but worse. As I was driving it, an explosion sounded from the vehicle and the whole entire front of the vehicle lowered to the crash shield, making it extremely unsafe to drive. I have asked for the dealership to get a certified mechanic from GM to come and look at the vehicle and to start the repurchase process, no one is getting back to us and the vehicle is unsafe to drive.
